💬 What inspired you to start your business (or join the company you are associated with)?
"Wanted to find ways to continue to move the community forward."
💬 What’s something unique about your business that most people don’t know?
"The Paoli Public Library is a Carnegie Library. The original library building, still located on the Square, was constructed in 1918. Due to space constraints, the library relocated to its current location at 100 West Water Street but remains a Carnegie Library. We still have original furniture and fixtures from the original library in place in the newer building. We have an original handrail mounted near the back foyer and use that space to display quilted items from our Ritzy Quilter group. Near our audiobook and DVD shelves, you will see a small door from the original Carnegie circulation desk mounted as a dedication piece to the opening of the new location. "
💬 What’s your best-selling or most popular product/service?
"We have many patrons who use our Interlibrary Loan System, allowing them to use books and movies from other Evergreen libraries in the state. The library also offers copying, printing, and fax services for the public to use, at a minimal cost. We are more than just books! We also have a growing Library of Things, which offers items from puzzles to games to even a telescope! Items from our Library of Things can be checked out with your Paoli Public Library card."
💬 What’s your favorite part about being a business owner in our community?
"We love collaborating with other groups and organizations within the town and throughout the county to bring programs forward to help our community grow and move forward. One of our most recent collaborations has been with Possibilities in Paoli, who mounted the mosaic in our Children's Room, displaying artwork that had been completed by members of our very own community!"
☕ What keeps you going through the day?
"Sweet Tea!"
🏡 What’s your favorite thing about small-town life?
"It's great that you can have conversations with others and come together to help each other."
🎉 What’s something you’re proud of accomplishing?
"Many groups from Paoli and Orange County use our library for meeting space, from Crocheting group to Master Gardeners and the Orange County Historical Society."
"September is National 'Get a Library Card' month! To get a Paoli Public Library card, present a current ID with a Paoli address OR two documents with your name and current Paoli address, such as a lease or utility bill. We will be having a prize drawing for those who sign up for a new library card in September. Stop by and see us!"
