Update: Thanks to Colorado Department of Transportation, the highway had been cleared except a small amount of standing water. Pay extra attention when traveling that area. Thank you. Goodnight.

Highway 6 near the CDOT Barn in town has mud covering the roadway. The road is currently still open, but motorists should approach with caution. Thank you.

While helping fight the original fire yesterday at the 66 EB I70, another fire started from a lightning strike nearby. We got two for the price of one.🤪 Oh, Fire Season 2026, it has been a crazy ride!🔥

Emergency crews are getting a handle on this one. The Pinyon Fire in the area of the 66 mile-marker of I70 eastbound. Numerous agencies, including air support, are on scene.

Bear walks into Colorado Springs Fire Department station, steals gear bag...

Colorado Springs Fire Department and Colorado Parks and Wildlife are reminding the public to keep their belongings and trash secured after a bear walked into a fire station and grabbed a gear bag.

The wait is almost over! 🚒
Our newest addition - Baby Engine 35 - was born in Michigan and is officially en route to her new home in Colorado with the Grand Valley Fire Protection District! She’s a little bigger than average, drinks a lot of fuel, and has zero problem making noise when she wants attention. Stay tuned for her arrival! ❤️
