We had perfect skies for viewing the lunar eclipse last night. Mosquitoes were little ravenous but it was worth the wait. Pictures don’t do the eclipse justice.

Well thanks to cooler temps this evening (due to much needed rain) we didn’t see many moths but we were able to find loads of tree frogs. Even these two polite little froggos.

The little one in the front is a gray tree frog…..well supposed to be. Both green and gray tree frogs have the ability to adapt their shade of color to match their environments, similar but not quite like a chameleon.

Gray tree frogs can be identified by their slightly warty skin and lack of a yellow chin stripe, like that of the green tree frog pictured behind.

Our guests for the Lake Walcott Kayak Adventure had an amazing time on the water. We got to see different birds of prey and even some of our local fish within the lake. Join on our next adventure in September!

Due to drying conditions we are officially under a burn ban. No open ground/wood fires are permitted during this time in the park. You are allowed charcoal or propane grills or stoves however. Please be vigilant for any smoke and/or fires during this time.
