The Valley Hospital MICU and ER teams came together this Movember with one goal in mind: raise $911 for men’s health. Thanks to the dedication, generosity, and team spirit of everyone involved, we didn’t just meet that goal — we crushed it with a total of $1,309 raised!

Huge gratitude to every staff member, supporter, and donor who contributed. Your kindness and commitment truly make a difference. Proud to be part of a community that shows up, supports each other, and pushes for better health for all. 💙

🚑 Lifesaving Heroes Among Us 💙

Recently, a man suffered sudden cardiac arrest at a café in Allendale, New Jersey. Thanks to the quick actions of his family who began CPR and called 911, the chain of survival was set into motion immediately. Within moments, Allendale Police and The Valley Hospital EMS team arrived, providing advanced life-saving care. Because of their swift response, exceptional skill, and teamwork, our clinicians were able to resuscitate the patient and transport him to The Valley Hospital—where, just a few weeks later, he walked out on his own.

We are incredibly proud to share that our EMTs and Paramedics were formally recognized by the Borough of Allendale for their heroic actions. Their dedication, training, and compassion are what make The Valley Hospital EMS team such an extraordinary group of professionals. We thank our staff and all first responders who make miracles like this possible every day.

This amazing achievement directly reflects the incredible patient care that our team delivers every single day! Congratulations to our incredible staff who goes above and beyond every day!

Today, The Valley Hospital IMAT team, HERT team, and EMS set up our mass decontamination tent in a combined learning exercise for new members.

The tent features two walkways filled with shower heads for ambulatory patients, as well as a center conveyor belt for patients requiring a supine position. The water is collected in a large basin so that it can be properly disposed of as needed.

On this Memorial Day, we honor the heroes who gave everything for our freedom. Their sacrifice reminds us of the true cost of liberty — and the courage it takes to protect it. 🇺🇸

We’re also deeply grateful to our EMTs and Paramedics who are working today, putting others first as always. Thank you for your continued commitment and dedication to keeping our community safe.

To the Valley Hospital EMS staff, your hard work, dedication, and the life saving care you provide your patients everyday is truly a testament to this year’s theme, “We Care. For Everyone”. Day in and day out you answer the call and for that, Bergen County is a safer place. Thank you for all that you do and continue to do each and every day!

To all of our EMS partners that we have the privilege of working beside everyday, we thank you for answering the call when no one else will! At the drop of a tone you leave your families, friends, and work to help save the life of a complete stranger, often without even a thank you. Your continuous dedication to provide EMS services to your communities inspires us all! Thank you for all that you do!

Shout out to Susan Hook for receiving a “Be The Key Award”. Sue, one of Valley Hospital’s EMTs and Valley Van Drivers, was picking up a patient on the Valley Van to be transported to her doctor’s appointment when she realized something wasn’t right. Sue quickly noticed that her patient was presenting with stroke like symptoms and activated the 911 system, dispatching an ambulance and paramedic unit. Because of Sue’s quick actions, the patient had an excellent outcome! Join us in congratulating Sue on this outstanding achievement!

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Doug Williamson. Doug dedicated his career to serving others—as an emergency room nurse for many years and as the Director of The Valley Hospital Emergency Medical Services. His commitment to healthcare and his role as a mentor touched countless lives.

Doug was much more than a colleague; he was a teacher to so many, always willing to share his knowledge, wisdom, and compassionate care with others. His contributions not only improved our work environment but also left a lasting impact on the community he served.

Let’s honor his memory by holding the memories we shared with him close to our hearts.
