The Paramus Office of Emergency Management is charged under federal and state regulations with the development of emergency plans to protect live and property and effectively manage any emergency or disaster. Fortunately, we live in an area that does not experience many of these natural disasters although there have been several in the recent past. Man-made disasters resulting from fires, chemical

spills, and terrorism could strike our community at any time. We do not have to live in fear of such occurrences but no one should assume that they will never happen in Paramus. Everyone should have an awareness of these potential hazards and have a plan to protect families, businesses, and property. This website contains information to help you develop your own disaster plan for your family or business. Knowing beforehand what to do, where to go and how to get there may save your life. Please take the time to learn about emergency preparedness and discuss it with your family or employees. We all hope that we will never have to live through a disaster, but if we do, prior emergency planning is the key to your safety.

🚨 PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE: STRICT DRONE NO-FLY ZONES FOR FIFA AND AMERICA250 🚨

As Northern New Jersey welcomes the world for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the America250 celebrations, the Paramus Office of Emergency Management is reminding all residents, visitors, and hobbyists that strict drone No Drone Zones will be in place.

Here is what you need to know before you fly:
• The Restricted Airspace: No drones are allowed within a 3-nautical-mile radius and up to 3,000 feet in the air around stadiums, team base camps, and official event spaces.
• The Consequences: Law enforcement and the FAA are not issuing warnings. Violating this restricted airspace can result in fines of up to $100,000, immediate confiscation of your drone, and federal criminal charges.
• Active Enforcement: Advanced drone-detection is being used to track and intercept unauthorized flights in real-time.

Always check the FAA’s B4UFLY app or visit FAA.gov before you launch any drone this summer to ensure you are clear of any Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs).
