Poverty in the Jewish community is about more than economic insecurity. It’s also about whether people can fully participate in Jewish life.

A new report by looks at the state of economic precarity in our community now and outlines the steps we must take to build the future our tradition calls for — a community where there are no needy among us and where everyone feels welcome and at home.

We’re proud to celebrate the PowerNET 2026 Program Impact Award winner: Jewish Community Services of South Florida (JCS)for their inspiring initiative, The Advocacy Collective.

When Miami-Dade County proposed cutting $16.577 million in funding for essential services, JCS brought together 63 nonprofit organizations to advocate for the community. Through collaboration, media engagement, and strong advocacy, the coalition helped secure the full restoration of this vital funding, protecting services that support housing stability, food security, mental health care, and more.

This powerful effort shows what can happen when organizations work together to protect the most vulnerable in our communities.

🏆 JCS will be recognized at PowerNET 2026 powered by The Azrieli Foundation May 4-7th in Toronto.

March is Social Work Month, and we’re celebrating the incredible social workers who make a difference in our communities every single day.

Social workers support individuals, families, and communities through some of life’s toughest challenges, helping people navigate mental health struggles, housing instability, family crises, aging, and so much more.

This year’s theme, “Social Work: Uplift. Defend. Transform.”, reminds us how social workers uplift those in need, defend dignity and justice, and work to transform systems so everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Across The Network’s member agencies, social workers are on the front lines of care, compassion, and advocacy. We are deeply grateful for the work you do and the lives you change every day.
