Paramus CERT

Paramus CERT Prior emergency planning is the key to your safety. Every year we see the devastation across the country caused by storms, floods, tornados, and earthquakes.

Fortunately, we live in an area that does not experience many of these natural disasters although there have been several in the recent past. Man-made disasters resulting from fires, chemical spills, and terrorism could strike our community at any time. We do not have to live in fear of such occurrences but no one should assume that they will never happen in Paramus. Everyone should have an awaren

ess of these potential hazards and have a plan to protect families, businesses, and property. The Paramus Office of Emergency Management is charged under federal and state regulations with the development of emergency plans to protect live and property and effectively manage any emergency or disaster. This website contains information to help you develop your own disaster plan for your family or business. Knowing beforehand what to do, where to go and how to get there may save your life. Please take the time to learn about emergency preparedness and discuss it with your family or employees. We all hope that we will never have to live through a disaster, but if we do, prior emergency planning is the key to your safety. Guy Picone
Emergency Management Coordinator

Awesome outreach by Paramus EMS! It's great to see kids getting a hands on look at the ambulances. Events like this can help children feel a little less scared in a real emergency by making them familiar with EMS responders beforehand.

Our EMTs had the pleasure of meeting with students in an after school program at Ridge Ranch School on Tuesday. What a fun time they had (and WE had) showing them the ambulances and all we do as EMTs and first responders.

This morning, 11 members of Paramus CERT supported approximately 50 firefighters from the Paramus Fire Department during a training exercise at the former REI and Red Robin building in Paramus.
Fire department members rotated through multiple stations throughout the commercial property to practice and refresh a variety of skills and training topics which lasted about 4 hours.
Paramus CERT set up and staffed the rehab area by providing coffee, hot chocolate, tea, water, Gatorade, snacks, and a place for members to rest between training stations.
We are proud to support our first responders, as training opportunities like this not only help our CERT members continue developing and refining our fire rehab setup and support operations, but also help firefighters ensure readiness and maintain preparedness for real-world emergencies.
