It is with a heavy heart that we learned of the passing of William “Bill” Eilert, former Wallington Councilman.

Bill lived a life defined by service to his country, his community, and his family. He proudly served as an officer in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps and later continued his commitment to veterans as a member and officer of VFW Pavlick Koster Post 2640.

In Wallington, Bill dedicated himself to public life as a member of the Wallington Council, the Planning Board, and the Library Board of Trustees. His leadership and steady presence left a lasting impact on the community he cared so deeply about.

His devotion to public service was reflected in his family as well. His son, Chris Eilert, continues that tradition as Chief of Staff to Senator Paul Sarlo.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris and the entire Eilert family during this difficult time. Bill’s legacy of service and integrity will not be forgotten.

More information about Bill's life and service information can be found in the link below.
