Village of Pardeeville
Paged out for structure fire at 104 Lake Street.
Upon arrival fire personnel encountered fire and heavy smoke in an upstairs apartment unit.
A quick knockdown of the fire prevented much more extensive damage from occurring.
Multiple fire apparatus were deployed during this event, including the aerial ladder truck, which was used for accessing windows on the upper level of the building.
2 apartment units suffered Fire and Water damage, with multiple units suffering heavy smoke damage. Renters from 6 apartment units were evacuated and displaced by this event.
Cause of the fire was not immediately identified.

Additionally, Montello FD was dispatched to the call but released shortly after arrival. Rio Fire backfilled our fire station for any additional emergency response calls that may have occurred during this time. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents with temporary housing.
Public Note:
Due to ongoing, yet unresolved discussions with the Village of Pardeeville, Truck 6 (aerial) has been relocated and is being parked outside at the Fire Station until such time as an agreement can be reached or alternative inside storage can be found or built.
