Village of Pardeeville

Paged out for structure fire at 104 Lake Street.

Upon arrival fire personnel encountered fire and heavy smoke in an upstairs apartment unit.

A quick knockdown of the fire prevented much more extensive damage from occurring.

Multiple fire apparatus were deployed during this event, including the aerial ladder truck, which was used for accessing windows on the upper level of the building.

2 apartment units suffered Fire and Water damage, with multiple units suffering heavy smoke damage. Renters from 6 apartment units were evacuated and displaced by this event.

Cause of the fire was not immediately identified.

Pardeeville Fire would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance with this event:

On scene:
Portage Fire and EMS
Rio EMS
Columbia County Sheriff’s Department
Emergency Management

Additionally, Montello FD was dispatched to the call but released shortly after arrival. Rio Fire backfilled our fire station for any additional emergency response calls that may have occurred during this time. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents with temporary housing.

Public Note:
Due to ongoing, yet unresolved discussions with the Village of Pardeeville, Truck 6 (aerial) has been relocated and is being parked outside at the Fire Station until such time as an agreement can be reached or alternative inside storage can be found or built.

Join us Thursday as we provide a fire truck parade at 4:30 to some outstanding Pardeeville athletes on their way to Nationals and State!

Joe Waydick is a local high school student on his way to Nationals in TX for Powerlifting. He qualified with a 3 event total of 1196 pounds! This is a Pardeeville first!

The parade will also recognize and send off many boys and girls from our youth Wrestling Team who qualified for State!

Parade Route will begin at the fire station and follow a route from Lake, Main, stop at the library, Chestnut and to the High School parking lot for those that want to cheer them on and grab photos.

Best of Luck to all.

Go Dogs!

We would like to thank Tricia, staff and patrons of The Clubhouse at Saddle Ridge for their generosity this past weekend for Bourbon and Bags Bingo.

They successfully raised and donated $400 to the Pardeeville Fire Department for use in helping purchase equipment needs.

We appreciate it!
