On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, during their regularly scheduled meeting, the Main Street Advisory Board nominated the following businesses and promotions for the prestigious Texas Downtown Association Presidents award.

1. Best Commercial Interior: Bird Dog Books, 122 Grand Avenue
2. Best Restoration/Remodel/ and Rehab-Bonfire PTX 136 Clarksville St.
3. Best promotion-Return of the Paris Art Fair- Held in May at Bywaters Park.

The President’s Awards Program was started 40 years ago to recognize outstanding projects, places, and people that contribute to downtowns across the state. The program features 11 different categories that fall under Design or Achievement and are divided by two groups based on population. Texas Downtown Association is a statewide organization dedicated to serving downtowns.

President Awards are about so much more than receiving an award—they are about recognizing the people, partnerships, and stories behind the work that makes a downtown thrive. Let’s all wish each of these candidates the best of luck in this statewide competition. No matter what the results, the businesses and activities in downtown Paris, Texas are the best of the best!
