We had a great day at the Ride Right Rally on May 14th at the Edgar County 4-H Fairgrounds!
A total of 70 Edgar County 6th-grade students participated in this hands-on learning experience designed to take education beyond the classroom. Throughout the day, students rotated through interactive stations covering ATV safety, lawn mower safety, rollover protection, how to put out a fire, Stop the Bleed, sun safety, and chemical look-alikes.
The day concluded with a live demonstration of an ATV accident, where our area's first responders showed students how an emergency is handled in real time. This powerful experience helped reinforce the importance of safety and the role of emergency services in our community.
This event provided students with the opportunity to engage directly with professionals, ask questions, and gain practical knowledge they can carry with them into their daily lives. Experiences like this help build awareness, confidence, and an appreciation for the use of ATVs and other power equipment that we sometimes take for granted.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our outstanding presenters and partners who made this event possible:
• Edgar County Farm Bureau and Ag in the Classroom
• Chrisman Farm Center
