Today, we say goodbye to a true Tennessee treasure.

Dolly Parton was more than a legendary singer, songwriter, actress, and entertainer. She was a champion for children, literacy, education, and the simple joy of a good story. Through her Imagination Library, she helped put millions of books into the hands of children around the world and inspired generations of young readers to dream big.

Her kindness, generosity, humor, and unmistakable talent touched countless lives. Her songs will continue to be sung, her stories will continue to be told, and the books she helped place in children's hands will continue to inspire.

From all of us at the library, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Dolly's family, friends, and the many people who loved her.

Thank you, Dolly, for leaving the world a little brighter, a little kinder, and a whole lot more musical. 🎶📚💖

Rest in peace, Dolly. You will be deeply missed.

Lots of people remember using the card catalogue at their libraries but WG Rhea Library in Paris, TN has a FREE Seed Catalogue. Partnering with the Henry County Masters Gardners Group, small garden size packets of seeds are assembled. They are then paced in the lovely wooden repurposed card catalogue at the library. A person can take up to 6 packets of seeds per day. From asters to zucchini the small seed packets are great for beatifying a home or feeding a family.
It's time to be thinking of fall gardens - specifically beans, lettuce, kale, mustard, collard greens, carrots, parsnips, radish. Stop by W. G. Rhea Public Library 400 Washington, Paris, Tn and start planting.
