Training Announcement: Hazardous Materials Technician
The Kentucky Emergency Management Division is offering a Hazardous Materials Technician course in Bourbon County for emergency response personnel seeking technician-level hazardous materials certification. This course prepares responders to manage hazardous materials and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) incidents using advanced containment, mitigation, and offensive response strategies within the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The course is aligned with NFPA 470, Chapter 11.

Time: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (EST) daily

Firefighters
EMS personnel
Law enforcement officers
Other emergency responders with hazardous materials response responsibilities
Prerequisites
Participants must have successfully completed:
Hazardous Materials Awareness
Hazardous Materials Operations
Copies of both course completion certificates must be submitted prior to the start of class.

Maximum class size: 30 students
Advance registration is required.
Meals, lodging, travel arrangements, and associated expenses are the responsibility of the student and will not be reimbursed by Kentucky Emergency Management unless otherwise specified.
