Mayor Daniel Rogers Announces Appointment of New Chief of Police

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Langston as the next Chief of Police for the City of Paris, effective August 10, 2026.

Chief Langston currently serves with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and brings more than 14 years of progressive law enforcement experience at the municipal, county, and federal levels. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and servant leadership.

Chris has extensive experience in criminal investigations, officer training, and community policing. He is a certified fi****ms instructor, professional instructor, field training officer, and has completed more than 1,900 hours of Arkansas CLEST training, along with numerous advanced certifications. His background also includes service with the VA Federal Police, where he held leadership responsibilities in training, recruitment, and public engagement.

When selecting our next Chief, I was looking for someone who possesses strong character, proven leadership, and a genuine commitment to serving others. I believe Chief Langston embodies those qualities and will build a department focused on professionalism, accountability, and community trust.

As Chief, Chris will lead a department committed to protecting the people of Paris, their families, their homes, and their property, while continuing to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and our community.

Please join me in welcoming Chief Chris Langston to the City of Paris. I have attached his professional biography so our citizens can get to know the man who will be leading our Police Department. I am excited about the future of the Paris Police Department under his leadership and look forward to working alongside him as we continue building a safer, stronger community.
