Today around 1130 am an officer with Paris pd initiated a traffic stop on a beige color Chevy s10 for a traffic violation. The subject failed to stop and a pursuit insused. Paris pd officers pursued the vehicle around the loop and north onto 195. During the pursuit Reno pd and Lamar county sheriff office was able to join and assist with the pursuit. During the pursuit, Paris pd had to terminate on 195. At this time officers lost sight of the vehicle due to curves in the road way. My agency along with Lamar county sheriff office detectives were able to locate the suspect vehicle at the 4 way stop in novice. My agency along with Lamar county sheriff office and Reno pd began heading east bound on 195 in pursuit of the vehicle. The suspect vehicles fled serval miles into red river county before wrecking out into a fence. The suspect bailed from the vehicle and a foot pursuit took place. The subject was caught and placed under arrest for evading. It was also learned that subject had an outstanding warrant for assault family violence. This was a multi agency effort and great work by everyone involved.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
I have had several phone calls in regards to all of the police activity on north Cedar in Blossom yesterday. Below I will give a brief description of the events that took place to be as transparent with everyone as possible.

On December 17 at approximately 2pm my office attempted to serve a civil process at 345 Cedar Street. Contact was made with a male subject inside the residence. During the conversation with the male subject a glass pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine was observed to be laying on the coffee table in the living room. As I went to my patrol vehicle to retrieve a pen, when I returned the pipe was no longer there. The male subject was questioned about the pipe and where it disappeared to. The male subject became aggressive and refused to obey commands when he was told he was detained for drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence. The male subject then evaded and locked himself into the residence and refused to come out. As deputies from the Lamar County sheriff’s office arrived to assist, the subject stuck a small portion of his body outside the back door and officers were able to grab the subject and safely place him in handcuffs. The subject was charged with drug paraphernalia and evading. It was later learned the subject is a s*x offender out of Dallas county that is required to register. It was later learned the subject has not been reporting properly and he was charged with a felony charge for fail to register. I want to give a huge thank you to the Lamar county sheriff office for their assistance and help with this matter.

This took place in Red River county, on the Lamar/Red river county line. Being attached to the Lamar County Special Response team, my office was able to go and assist. This situation was handled very well by all the agencies involved.
