Please join us, Thursday, June 4th at 10:00AM, as we begin our leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.  We will meet at the intersection of Main & Pleasant St.

Come support officers from Norway Pd, Paris Pd, Oxford County SO, Oxford County Dispatch, Maine State Fire Marshal’s, and the Special Olympics athletes who will be relaying the torch all the way to Brunswick, in preparation for the 2026 summer games in Orono.

All are welcome; officers, athletes, family, and friends. See you there!

To the gentleman who was kind enough to pick up the Stihl leaf blower from Paris St in Norway today (April 21) around noon - we want to thank you for safely removing it from the roadway. Please return this equipment that belongs to the Town of Norway at your earliest convenience or contact Deven at the Parks & Recreation Department - (207) 739-7050 so that it can be picked up.

NOTICE: There has been an increase in theft from vehicles in the area. The Norway Police Department would like to inform the public of tips to keep your belongings safe:

Help Prevent Car Break-Ins:

Lock Your Doors
Even if you are parked in front of your house, in your driveway or inside your garage, lock your doors. Criminals like to walk down the street and see if a car is unlocked, if it is they open the door and take whatever is visible and move on to the next target. However, if the door is locked, they are more likely to move on.

Secure Your Vehicle
A car thief can break into your car and be out in about 30 seconds, fast enough that an alarm doesn't scare most of them away.

Conceal All Electronics and Accessories
Stow your electronics and accessories well out of sight or just take it along with you. The proof alone might be enough to pique the interest of thieves, including items such as power cords, adapters, and GPS windshield suction-cup mounts.
