Have you ever wanted to give City Hall a piece of your mind? Here is your chance without needing torches or pitchforks! The City has started its Comprehensive Plan Project. It has been over 15 years since this was last done, and there have been a lot of changes in that time. We need you - those who live in, work, or frequently shop/dine in Park Falls - to tell us what you think and what you would like to see the City do to keep Park Falls a vibrant community. Here is a link to our community survey, and we ask you for 10 to 15 minutes of your time complete it. It is important, as it is your community.

Mark your calendar! On June 15th at 4:00 on the third floor of City Hall, there will be a presentation and listening session on potential plans for the athletic complex. Since last summer, a joint committee of School and City officials have been meeting to discuss the athletic complex and needed improvements to get the track functional again, along with other desired improvements to the facility. Decisions made in the near future could affect the layout, improvements, and uses for decades to come. We would like to hear what you have to say!

We are making a few changes on how we are doing utility billing. First, for those that have smart meters installed (which is currently about 80 percent of you), we are switching to reading and billing in gallons as opposed to 1,000 gallons at a time. For those that do not have smart meters yet, nothing will change. Why are we doing this? This gives us much better ability to monitor leaks and excessive usages that sometimes occur. It can help save dollars for those that get unfortunate leaks, and saves us time in investigating and tracking down leak issues.

In addition, we are planning on issuing utility bills in full letter form as opposed to the current postcards. This will hopefully help with postal issues and the cards getting lost or stuck in other mail. In addition, we plan to include a quarterly newsletter with the bill to better keep you informed of happenings with the City. Stay tuned, we are working to roll out direct withdrawal for utility payments before the next billing cycle as well.

CITY OF PARK FALLS SPRING CLEAN-UP:
City residents are urged to clean up their properties. City trucks will haul leaves, yard waste, and garden waste that is left out at the curb line or alley. All leaves, yard waste, and garden waste must be in bags and set out for collection from May 11th – 22nd. No rocks, concrete, dirt, animal waste, or any material from remodeling or construction will be picked up. The City will also chip brush during this time. Chipping of routine yard brush will be done at no charge for any quantity under 5 cubic yards. Chips will be removed unless otherwise requested. All brush must be placed on the boulevard or alley with the butt end facing the street or alley.
If you would like to haul your own brush and yard waste, there is a dump site available 7 days a week behind the City Garage. Please look for signs.

The City of Park Falls has changed its email address to cityofparkfallswi.gov for all staff except Library staff (they are on a separate system). Our website and other documents will soon be updated with new email addresses. The old ones will still work for a while, but if you are someone who emails us regularly, please note this change.
