Fourth grade students at Park Falls Elementary School wrapped up their community service projects at the end of the year, and we could not be more proud of their hard work and the support from our community.

Students set a goal to collect 250 food items, assemble 250 hygiene kits, and collect supplies for our school pool. Thanks to the generosity of our families, businesses, and community members, students exceeded those goals by collecting 402 food items, 305 hygiene kits, and many fun new items for the pool.

We would like to thank The Lord’s Cupboard and Peace Lutheran Church for partnering with us and coming to pick up all of the donations to help support our community.

We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and supported our students throughout this project. Many families, friends, teachers, students, and community members contributed donations and helped spread the word.

Our hygiene kits would not have been possible without the generous support of:
• NorthLakes Community Clinic
• Liesen Pinzl Kessinger Dental
• Park Pharmacy
• Jennifer Bast (Oh Deer Nutrition)
• Barb “The Felted Soap Lady”
• Ashley & Northern State Bank in Glidden

We would also like to thank the CHS Leo’s Club for helping students assemble the hygiene kits.

Through these projects, students learned that when people work together, they can make a meaningful impact in their community. We are proud of the leadership, teamwork, and compassion our fourth graders demonstrated throughout this experience.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make these projects such a success.

Chequamegon Band is hosting the 1st Annual Mattress Fundraiser on Saturday, July 18th, from 10am-5pm. This may sound weird, but it is the best way to buy a new mattress because the prices can’t be beaten, the brands are the same as retail stores, and every purchase benefits the Band. Please help to spread the word! More information can be found https://www.facebook.com/events/1420986119520075/. Watch a video at https://vimeo.com/637591323!

Looking for something to do this summer? Join the High School Boys Summer Basketball League! This is a great chance to get out of the house, stay active, improve your game, and have some fun with your teammates while getting ready for next season. The team is still looking for members!

All games will be played in Ashland. Practices and skill work take place Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday during morning weight room hours usually starting around 7:00 a.m. Players are asked to attend at least two sessions each week. (For example, Tuesday and Thursday)

Basketball times may vary throughout the summer, but everyone will be informed of any schedule changes. For more information, if you need a ride, or to sign up, contact Athletic Director Stephanie Hirtreiter. Additional information and Shot Club forms are available in the weight room. A thank you to the Eagle Elite Booster Club for their generous sponsorship.

Come join us this summer! 💪🏀☀️

Each year, the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association (WFSCA) puts on a senior all-star game. Girls are nominated across the state at all divisions to play in their tournament of games. Of our seniors nominated, Chequamegon High School will be represented by two outstanding ball players. This year, Adison Bablick and Angelina BeBeau will travel to Wisconsin Dells to represent our school. Games are scheduled for June 16th at Woodside Complex in Wisconsin Dells.

For four years, these girls have represented our school in so many positive ways. Adi lead our outfield and quickly settled in as our lead off hitter. Her speed is unmatched. Throughout her high school career, she not only accomplished a standout 100+ hits, but she also put together 100 career steals. In the outfield, it’s tough for a ball to touch down anywhere near her, and as coach K says, "that’s the no fly zone."

Angie played every infield position we needed her to except second base. Her freshman year she played a lights out third base, her sophomore year, we needed to move her to short stop, and she took on the challenge to go back “home” to the position she loved. Her junior year, we needed to make some changed and she played short, first and third. No matter where we put her, she played that position as hard as she possibly could. We knew we could count on her for whatever we might have needed and are so proud of her versatility. At bat, she also compiled over 100 hits and also was a threat on the bases when she got on.

These two deserve this honor, and we cannot wait to hear how it goes. Best of luck ladies!
