⚠️ Weather Update ⚠️

Due to this afternoon's severe weather and out of an abundance of caution, tonight's Main Street Nights concert has been canceled.

However, the Community Relations' Resident Appreciation BBQ will still take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. as a drive-thru event at Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive.

Residents are invited to drive through the Village Hall parking lot and let staff know how many hamburgers and hot dogs they would like. Staff will bring the food directly to their vehicle.

The drive-thru service will continue while supplies last.

Thank you for your understanding, and the Village looks forward to seeing residents this evening! 🌭🍔❤️

On the morning of Wednesday, June 10, 2026, officers and civilian staff from the Park Forest Police Department will proudly serve as Guardians of the Flame, carrying the symbolic Flame of Hope through our community as part of the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois.

The torch will be carried from the intersection of Sauk Trail and Lakewood Boulevard, through the heart of downtown Park Forest, to the intersection of Western Avenue and Lincoln Highway, where it will be passed to officers from the Olympia Fields Police Department.

Each year, law enforcement officers across Illinois collectively run more than 1,500 miles as the Flame of Hope makes its way through neighboring towns and villages en route to the 2026 Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games in Normal. This inspiring tradition helps raise awareness and promotes a more inclusive world for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The Park Forest Police Department is expected to receive the torch at approximately 7:40 a.m. (often slightly earlier than anticipated) and will pass through the downtown area shortly afterward.

We invite residents, businesses, and visitors to join us along the route and cheer on your Park Forest officers as they carry the Flame of Hope through our village!

This past May, Chicago Police Department Officer Nancy Sanchez participated in the Road to Hope bicycle ride and rode in honor of fallen Park Forest Police Detective Tim Jones.

The Road to Hope is an annual 250-mile, three-day memorial bicycle ride organized by Law Enforcement United Inc. Held each spring in conjunction with National Police Week, the event brings together hundreds of law enforcement officers, survivors, and civilian supporters to honor fallen officers and raise funds for their surviving families.

Officer Sanchez recently stopped by the Park Forest Police Department and presented us with the flag that was attached to her bicycle during the ride. The flag was beautifully framed and accompanied by a memorial bracelet in honor of Tim.

We are grateful to Officer Sanchez and everyone involved in the Road to Hope ride for helping keep the memory and sacrifice of our fallen officers alive.
