Maine Township elected officials recently attended the Township Officials of Cook County (TOCC) Annual Spring Conference, joining township leaders from across the region to learn, share ideas, and discuss issues impacting our communities.

The conference featured educational sessions on topics including mental health and wellness, veterans services, new laws affecting townships and effective community engagement.

Trustee James Maher, Assessor Susan Moylan-Krey, Supervisor Kimberly Jones and Trustee Asif Malik joined Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County Mayrina Spiropoulos for part of the event.

Today, we recognize Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and progress.

As we honor this important day in our nation's history, Maine Township remains committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive community for all.

Our offices will reopen on Monday.

The Highway Dept. working along side our contractors are currently conducting construction operations in the following areas: Sumac, Margail, Emerson, Home Ct. and Home Terrace.

Please exercise patience and caution in these areas as we work to improve upon and enhance our community's infrastructure. 👷

Township residents are invited to attend a free interactive drug prevention event focused on helping adults recognize the warning signs of teen substance use and mental health concerns.

Participants will have the opportunity to tour the “Hidden in Plain Sight” trailer, which demonstrates common places where drugs and paraphernalia may be concealed, while learning about current teen drug trends, prevention strategies, and available community resources.

This event is hosted by the Village of Niles Engage Program, Maine Township Recovery Connection, and the He**in Epidemic Relief Organization (HERO). We encourage anyone who works with or cares for young people to attend and learn more about how to support healthy, informed choices.

Happy Pride Month from Maine Township!

This month, we celebrate the strength, diversity, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community. Maine Township is proud to support a community where everyone is welcome, respected, and valued for who they are.

We’re also excited to help spread the word about Morton Grove Pride’s annual “Pride in the Park” celebration on Thursday, June 18 at Harrer Park in Morton Grove. The free, all-ages event celebrates inclusion for the entire community.
