Yesterday afternoon at 4:30 PM, the Park Ridge Fire Department responded to reports of a fire in the wooded area behind Sulak Field. Upon arrival, units confirmed an active brush fire burning approximately 600 feet into the woods, requiring a coordinated effort to prevent further spread.

The crew from 47 Engine 2 made it to the area with water cans to slow the fire's progress. 47 Engine 1 and 47 Truck worked to stretch hose lines through the brush to establish a steady water supply, while the crew from 47 Rescue assisted with the extensive overhaul process.

Thanks to the hard work of all responding members, the fire was successfully contained and extinguished. All units were back in quarters after three hours of operation.

PRFD Drill Night:
Members spent last night working through blackout smoke scenarios designed to test their search abilities. Teams were challenged to move quickly, identify victims and hazards, avoid disorientation, and navigate their way out once the search was complete.

With no thermal imaging cameras available to the searchers, crews relied entirely on physical contact, sound cues, and communication.

Interested in joining? Stop down any Thursday night at 730pm or email [email protected]

The members of the Park Ridge Volunteer Fire Department would like to send a huge THANK YOU to our local Girl Scouts for stopping by Saturday with delicious chocolates and thoughtful thank-you notes!

Your kindness and support mean so much to our volunteers. It’s always a pleasure to see young members of our community spreading positivity (and chocolate 😊).

We are proud to serve such an amazing town and grateful for gestures like this that remind us why we do what we do.

Thank you, Girl Scouts you made our day a little sweeter!

Today, we want to send a special Valentine’s message to the incredible wives and girlfriends of our members.

Thank you for your patience when dinner gets interrupted…
For understanding when the tones drop at the worst possible time…
For supporting late nights, missed plans, and holiday calls.

While our members answer the alarms, you answer the call at home and that sacrifice does not go unnoticed.

Behind every volunteer firefighter is a strong, supportive partner who makes it all possible. We appreciate you more than you know.

From our firehouse family to yours Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️🔥

Last night, we had the privilege of hosting Chief Nick Martin from at the firehouse. The informative session included covering Size‑Ups, radio communications, and the dangers associated with basement fires.

We were joined by our neighboring departments — Montvale Volunteer Fire Department, Woodcliff Lake Fire Department, Saddle River Fire Department, River Vale Fire Department, and Hillsdale Fire Department having over 70 members present for the night.

A big thank‑you to Chief Martin and to all the departments who attended.
