The Middle Fork Irrigation District, in cooperation with the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the U.S. Forest Service, continues to work through the planning and design of improvements to Clear Branch Dam (the dam that creates Laurance Lake), which is on a tributary to the Hood River. The Clear Branch Dam Remedial Project is required to meet current environmental, flood routing, and structural requirements so the dam can continue to provide a clean and dependable water supply to water users in the Middle Fork Irrigation District well into the future.
MFID will be holding a public meeting to discuss the project from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Mt. Hood Town Hall, 6575 Highway 35, Mount Hood-Parkdale, Oregon 97041.
We encourage all patrons, as well as other community members, to attend and submit comments. The irrigated agriculture, as well as the recreational value of Laurance Lake are vital to the Hood River Valley.
If you plan on attending, please register ahead of time. If you are unable to attend, please submit your comments under the Overview-Public Comments tab from the website.
