La Paz County Sheriff's Office Located in western Arizona, along the banks of the Colorado River, La Paz County boast over 4,500 square miles of rugged desert and majestic mountains.

The La Paz County Sheriff's Department covers the unincorporated areas of La Paz County and supports the incorporated agencies within. We cover 72 miles of Interstate 10 and several resort areas along the Colorado River. Within the Department we have serval divisions including: Patrol, Detention, Investigations, Boating Safety, and K-9 Units.

The 48th Annual Parker Tube Float is BACK!

With thousands of visitors expected in Parker this weekend, there will be a significant increase in traffic throughout the area. Please plan ahead, be patient, and use extra caution while traveling on our roadways.

The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office will have deputies out in full force to help ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend. We will maintain a zero-tolerance policy for:

🚔 Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
🚔 Reckless Driving
🚔 Aggressive or Dangerous Driving Behavior

Our goal is simple: keep our residents and visitors safe while they enjoy one of Parker’s biggest events of the year.

Please designate a sober driver, obey all traffic laws, watch for pedestrians, and make responsible decisions.

🏆 Congratulations to Deputy J. Mondaca and Deputy S. DeBoer! 🏆

The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office is proud to recognize these two outstanding deputies for receiving the 2025 Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Award for their dedication to DUI enforcement and traffic safety.

Their commitment to protecting our community is evident through their hard work and proactive enforcement efforts. Together, they have conducted more than 2,000 traffic stops, made over 50 DUI-related arrests, and responded to numerous DUI-related crashes, helping remove impaired drivers from our roadways before tragedy could strike.

Deputy Mondaca and Deputy DeBoer have demonstrated an unwavering passion for keeping the citizens and visitors of La Paz County safe. Their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to public safety do not go unnoticed.

PTSD can affect anyone who has experienced or witnessed a traumatic event, and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

La Paz County Sheriff’s Office K9 Kobi to get donation of body armor

La Paz County Sheriff’s Office, AZ - K9 Kobi will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Kobi’s vest was sponsored by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and will be embroidered with the sentiment “This gift of protection provided by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.”. Delivery is expected within ten weeks.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,513 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

The program is open to U.S. dogs at least 20 months old, actively employed, and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $1,050 will sponsor one vest. Each vest has a value of $1800.00, weighs an average of 4-5 lbs., and comes with a five-year warranty. For more information, or to learn about volunteer opportunities, please call (508) 824-6978. There is currently an active fire near Sourdough Rd & Combers Blvd in Ehrenberg. Please avoid the area to allow first responders access to safely extinguish the fire and assist with evacuations in the surrounding area.

Residents are urged to stay alert, follow directions from emergency personnel, and avoid unnecessary travel near the incident.
