This Memorial Day, the Buckskin Fire District stands in gratitude for those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we hold dear. We also extend our deepest appreciation to the families who carry their legacy forward every day.

Congratulations to Captain Joe Maxwell for being named the Western Region Emergency Medical Care Technician of the Year by the Arizona State Department of Health Services. This prestigious program recognizes one outstanding Emergency Medical Care Technician from each region for exceptional service and dedication to their community.

Throughout his 18 year career with Buckskin Fire District, Captain Maxwell has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership through community outreach initiatives, public education efforts, and lifesaving programs that have positively impacted countless individuals throughout the community we serve

Buckskin Fire District has deployed a crew on our Type 6 engine to assist with suppression efforts on the Hazen Fire in Maricopa County, Arizona. The crew consist of Engine Boss Tyler Kowalski, Engine Boss Traniee Evan Foster, and Firefighter Chad Hinkley. The fire is currently reported at approximately 299 acres and remains 0% contained as crews continue working through difficult conditions in heavy fuels and river bottom terrain.
Our personnel will be working alongside multiple agencies to help protect lives, property, and infrastructure while supporting ongoing containment operations.

Buckskin Fire is deploying Engine Boss Tyler Kowalski, Engine Boss Trainee Evan Foster, Firefighter II Tanner Irwin, and Firefighter II Chad Hinkley to Topock in support of the Havasu Incident. The crew will be assisting with structure protection operations.

We thank these individuals for their continued hard work, professionalism, and dedication to protecting our communities. Please join us in wishing them a safe and successful assignment.

Buckskin Fire is deploying Engine Boss Tyler Kowalski, Engine Boss Trainee Evan Foster, and Firefighter II Chad Hinkley in the Type 6 to Cibola in support of suppression efforts on the South Point Incident.

The fire is currently estimated at 20 acres and was reported at approximately 11:00 PM last night. We appreciate the dedication and commitment of our personnel as they assist with wildfire suppression efforts.

The Buckskin Fire's Type 3 was assigned to the Garnet Fire near Fresno, California, as part of an Arizona State task force to assist with suppression efforts.
