Our annual Parker Fire Department golf tournament is this Saturday! If you are signed up, please arrive between 9 and 9:30 am to pay entry fees and sign in. Thank you to all sponsors and teams for their support over the years!

Happy Turner County Fair Day 2! Stop by the Ace Hardware tent and purchase your 2026 Parker Fire raffle tickets! $50 per ticket only 500 tickets sold. Each ticket gives you a chance at one of six prizes. We will draw winners in October! The funds are going to purchase updated tanker trucks. If you don’t make it out to the Four Best Days of Summer contact any firefighter for tickets. Cash, check, or Venmo.

We had our monthly training night on Monday, with 13 firefighters attending. Firefighter Mark Kasten led us in relay pumping and nursing operations. We started with a short video and scenario discussion, followed by hands-on exercises. The goal for the night was to get more comfortable in maintaining constant water flow from different sources; primary engine tank water, secondary engine tank water, drop tank water, and hydrant water.

Parker Fire had our monthly business meeting Monday night, followed by Firefighter CPR training. FF/Treasurer/EMT Brandin Jensen walked us through the things to consider when performing CPR on a downed firefighter; including removing gloves, helmet, SCBA mask, turnout coat and turnout pants while continuing chest compressions. 16 firefighters participated in the valuable training.

Busy few days for the FD! Saturday we started with a lift assist with the ambulance followed immediately by a call for a burn out of control. Saturday afternoon we assisted with a single vehicle rollover north of town. Sunday we had an afternoon vehicle fire. Monday, during the high winds, we had a grass/field fire. We were assisted on the grass fire by Humbolt, Marion, and Monroe Fire Departments. We were also assisted by local farmers with disks.

Interesting call on Thursday! We used our new SCBA packs that we trained on extensively during our Monday training.

Successful burns on Friday and Saturday! We had a great turn out from our members both days and had some local mutual aid departments’ help with a large burn Saturday. Thank you to Humboldt Fire & Ambulance, Monroe FD and Chancellor Community Fire Department for your help! Thanks to Wildland Coordinator Jakab for all the organization that goes into this process; it’s a thankless job that takes a lot of time. Thanks to Vanessa for bringing out the pizza for the crew yesterday!
