The relentless pursuit to challen

ge, communicate, create and connect learning. Legend High School is a comprehensive, technology-blended, college ready high school that relentlessly pursues every opportunity to challenge learning and make learning challenging, communicate and have students effectively communicate their learning, create learning that is relevant and rigorous and to connect learning to their lives and the industries they will enter after high school. We use Understanding by Design to develop core standard curriculum that has essential questions and big ideas to assess student learning proficiencies and measure their growth. Moodle and other technologies give students and teachers access to research and resources to create and communicate learning that prepares students for universities and daily lives in our ever changing society. AVID is a key ingredient at Legend to ensure all students are college ready and to target achievement gaps and work to increase student achievement and college skills. During the 2011-2012 school year, Legend will add its first senior class and have an enrollment of 1812 students. The Legend faculty and staff are well educated and qualified. Under the leadership of Principal Corey Wise, there are 114 staff members that work with Legend students and of those, 68 are certified teachers. One dean and 5 Assistant Principal/Student Advisors provide students with support service. Legend High School offers 21 Advanced Placement courses.
