A highly conditional severe weather threat remains in place later this afternoon into tonight. IF a storm can develop later today, it may quickly become severe. The main risks are two inch hail and 75 mph wind gusts. Timing of greatest concern remains 4 PM to midnight. Remain weather aware and have a plan should a warning be issued for your area.

While some uncertainty remains, stronger thunderstorms are expected tonight mainly along the Missouri River Valley and potentially southwestern MN. The main hazards would be large hail up to 2 inches and damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph. Make sure to have multiple ways to receive warning information!

After morning isolated storms in SD and patchy fog, attention turns to this afternoon and evening when isolated to scattered storms return to the area. A few storms could be strong to severe, with hail up to 2 inches and 65 mph wind gusts as the main threats. A tornado cannot be ruled out. Keep an eye on the forecast through the day for updates.
