The Wood County Prosecutor’s Office announces that Kevin Lee Wilson of Belleville was convicted by a Wood County Jury of the following crimes: In**st, Sexual Assault in the First Degree, two counts of Sexual Abuse by a Parent, Guardian, or Custodian, Sexual Assault in the Third Degree, and two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. Under the West Virginia sentencing guidelines, his crimes are punishable by 61 to 212 years.

In May 2023, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation led by Detectives Leslie Board and Evan Michael. This matter was then indicted with the assistance of various professionals, including those at the North Star Child Advocacy Center.

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Charlotte Dauphin led the subsequent prosecution at trial. We would like to recognize the efforts of Ms. Dauphin and all those involved in this case, as it necessitated the collaboration of many individuals, including CPS, who provided the children with invaluable support.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 12, 2026.

One position is ideal for an entry level attorney and the other is for an experienced litigator with a background in trial practice. Salary for these positions will be dependent upon experience and will include a full benefits package.

The defendant was sentenced to up to fifty (50) years in prison and will become eligible for parole after serving twenty (20) years. Following any term of incarceration, the defendant will be subject to fifty (50) years of supervised release and will be required to register as a s*x offender for life.

A Look Back at History: Long before highways crossed the Mid-Ohio Valley, sternwheel riverboats were the lifeline of Parkersburg. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, the Ohio River was filled with passenger boats and cargo vessels stopping along the city’s busy riverfront, helping the Mid-Ohio Valley become one of the region’s most important transportation hubs at the time.
That riverboat heritage is still alive today. In addition to Marietta's annual Sternwheel Festival, visitors can also ride one from Parkersburg to Blennerhassett Island, experiencing a living piece of the river’s history in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
