The Wood County Prosecutor’s Office announces that Kevin Lee Wilson of Belleville was convicted by a Wood County Jury of the following crimes: In**st, Sexual Assault in the First Degree, two counts of Sexual Abuse by a Parent, Guardian, or Custodian, Sexual Assault in the Third Degree, and two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. Under the West Virginia sentencing guidelines, his crimes are punishable by 61 to 212 years.
In May 2023, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation led by Detectives Leslie Board and Evan Michael. This matter was then indicted with the assistance of various professionals, including those at the North Star Child Advocacy Center.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Charlotte Dauphin led the subsequent prosecution at trial. We would like to recognize the efforts of Ms. Dauphin and all those involved in this case, as it necessitated the collaboration of many individuals, including CPS, who provided the children with invaluable support.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 12, 2026.
