We are just over a week away from our annual Ice Cream Social. We are looking for donations of Pies, cakes, or any other desserts. We have the ice cream handled.

We will have members at the Firehouse starting at 7am on Aug. 1st to accept the donations.

Good Evening.

1st off,
Due to the ongoing efforts to extinguish the warehouse fire off of Camden Ave. we will be canceling our BINGO scheduled for this Thursday July 9th. Our members have been working hand in hand with the other Departments from across West Virginia and Ohio around the clock since alittle after 6am on Sunday morning, and will continue doing so until this fire is completely out.

Secondly,
We also caution you on believing everything you see and hear online. PLEASE use reputable sources like the WOOD County 911 center and our State Agencies for the most up to date information.

Third,
For those who have asked, we will continue taking donations of bottled water and hydration drinks ( Gatorade, Prime, Ect.). If no one is at the Firehouse, you can leave them on the bench by the front door ( please don't block the doors)

Last but not least,
THANK YOU!

The outpouring of support we have seen throughout our community and the entire county is unbelievable. We cannot say thank you enough, to each and every one of you who have helped during this incident.

The Waverly Volunteer Fire Company was the recipient of a Grant from the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation!

With this grant we were able to purchase Wireless headsets for 2 of our fire engines.This allows members on the apparatus to communicate vital information and job assignments prior to arriving on an emergency scene.

We were also able to purchase personal thermal imaging cameras (TICS) for our engines allowing members to see dangers and potential victims that are invisible to the naked eye while fighting fires.

Without this Grant, the purchase of these items would have been nearly impossible. With the cost of equipment continuing to climb, valuable life saving equipment like the ones listed above may take years for departments to be able to afford.

Our members are extremely thankful for this opportunity!
