The Chamber office will be closed the week of August 31 and reopen on Tuesday, September 8.

Apparently Outlook decided to take some time off too, as our emails haven't been going in or out since 10am this morning (Monday, Aug 31.) A quick Google search indicates we are one of thousands that are impacted. Fingers crossed that emails are back up soon as I'll periodically check them throughout the week.

We’re excited to kick off another school year as Partners in Education with Emerson Elementary!

We started off the school year by helping stock each classroom with some classroom supplies and providing a fun sign to help welcome the students back for their first day.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support our local students and teachers and be a small part of helping make the school year a great one. Wishing all of the students, teachers, and staff a wonderful first day and an amazing year ahead! ❤️📚

Dear MOV Chamber Member,

What if just a few hours of your time could help a local student discover their future career?

The Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with Building Bridges to Careers (BB2C) to launch a Job Shadowing Pilot Program for Wood County high school students this October.

We're looking for 20 Chamber member businesses to serve as our inaugural Job Shadow Host sites during the week of October 19-23.

To help you learn more, we've included a short video featuring Mike Tucker, the Chamber's BB2C Business Liaison. Mike explains how the program works, what hosting a student looks like, and why he believes every business can make a difference.

☔ Rain, rain, couldn’t keep our Chamber friends away! ☔

Despite the downpour (take a peek out of our windows in the group picture 😳), our Breakfast Club guests came running in—soaked shoes, umbrellas in hand and smiles on their faces—ready to enjoy breakfast and great conversation before heading to work!

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who braved the miserable weather to join us, and a special thank-you to our wonderful member, Peoples Bank and especially Vienna branch manager Emily Martin, for sponsoring this morning’s gathering. You helped make a very rainy morning feel warm and bright! 🌧️☀️🥞

Pat Ford with the Polymer Alliance Zone, Inc. was the lucky winner of the date night door prize.

But we were all winners in that Sharon Kesselring with the American Red Cross of Central Appalachia Region choose to spend one of her last 8 hours with us this morning before retiring later today. That says a lot about how our members prioritize their Chamber relationships, even on their last day of work 🤗 We certainly wish her the best as she’s earned it! ❤️
