🔈 Butler County Emergency Management and Butler County Dispatch will be conducting their monthly test of the Outdoor Warning Sirens TODAY, July 15th, at 10:00am. If you hear the sirens at that time, there is no need to take action. This is only a test.

As a reminder, outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people outside and in the path of severe weather. They are not intended to be your first or only way to receive warnings indoors. We encourage residents to follow a layered warning approach using the PACE Method:
[P]rimary: Alert Iowa (see details below)
[A]lternate: Local television, radio, and trusted media apps
[C]ontingency: Social media, friends, family, and word of mouth
[E]mergency: Outdoor warning sirens

Alert Iowa is a statewide emergency notification system that the county uses to send alerts to residents via voice call, text message, and email. Signing up for Alert Iowa is easy and can be done any of the following ways:

Droppett will be opening very soon in Parkersburg! We are so excited to have this free bottle & can redemption depot for our community! 🤩♻️

How it works:
1. Create a free personal account at www.droppett.com that allows you to collect the funds from your containers. You will receive free bag tags after creating your account. Do this step NOW so you are ready when the depot arrives later this month!
2. Place aluminum and plastic containers in the same bag (trash bags are perfect) and place glass bottles in a taped cardboard box.
3. Affix your personalized bag tags securely to your bags and/or boxes. The barcode on the tag is tied to your personal account so you get credit for every container in that bag and/or box.
4. Below each drop door on the Droppett depot is a scanner that reads the barcode on your bag tag and unlocks the door. Open the door and place bag or box inside!
5. The Droppett team picks up, scans, counts, and processes the containers on a regular basis. Most are processed within 48-72 hours of pickup and your funds will be credited to your account - you can see your balance and number of containers recycled on your dashboard!
6. Once you reach $15.00, you can withdraw your funds via ACH ..or you can donate the funds to a partner fundraiser/charity at any balance!
7. Out of tags? No worries - you can order more straight from your Droppett dashboard when you log into your account!

Interested in fundraising? Create a fundraising account at www.droppett.com - give your supporters your bag tags or have them donate funds from their personal Droppett account by using the 'Donate Now' option on their Droppett dashboard. This is a great way to support our local schools, teams, community events, nonprofits, etc.!
