KVFD Training Series with a Live Burn in West Chester

On Saturday, May 20, 2026, KVFD Engine and Ladder units traveled to the West Chester Fire Training Center to participate in a live burn training exercise. The event included several practice scenarios focusing on engine arrival assignments.

Firefighters were positioned with minimal staffing and tasked with performing their duties in a controlled environment. The training lasted the majority of the day and provided valuable hands-on experience for all personnel involved.

After the training session, crews were served a catered lunch provided by Lindsay's Lunch Box. KVFD appreciates the support from the stokers and evaluators from Maryland, as well as Lindsay's Lunch Box for the meal.

Lindsay's Lunch Box is a Chester County-based meal prep service that offers high-protein, large-portion meals with Sunday delivery included. Operating out of the West Chester area, the service updates its menu weekly and is a popular choice for locals looking for fresh, ready-to-eat lunches and dinners.
