This week, we recognize the unseen professionals behind every call, our dispatchers.

It is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, and we extend our sincere appreciation to the dedicated team at the Mitchell Regional 911 Center. These dispatchers are the voices on the other end of the line, answering tens of thousands of emergency and non-emergency calls each year.

They are the critical link between the community and first responders, coordinating assistance across thousands of square miles in central and eastern South Dakota, often during the most intense and emotional moments in a person’s life.

Thank you to our dispatchers for your tireless service, quick thinking, and unwavering dedication. You are the heartbeat of public safety.
