NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED RENAMING OF CESAR E. CHAVEZ ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Governing Board of the Parlier Unified School District will hold a Public Hearing regarding the proposed renaming of Cesar E. Chavez Elementary School.

The purpose of the Public Hearing is to provide students, staff, parents, and community members the opportunity to provide comments, feedback, and input regarding the potential renaming of the school site in accordance with Board Policy 7310 and Resolution No. 51-25/26, approved by the Governing Board on May 5, 2026.

The Public Hearing will be held on June 9, 2026, no earlier than 5:00 p.m., in the Board Room located at 1200 E. Parlier Avenue, Parlier, California 93648.

Community members wishing to provide input may do so during the Public Hearing portion of the meeting. District administration has also gathered input through various district committees and stakeholder groups as part of the renaming process.

FYI: What Parents Need to Know About Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD)

Protect our students and keep our community healthy! 🧼🍎
We want to share some important information regarding Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD), a common viral illness that often affects infants and children under five. While it can be uncomfortable, taking simple steps at home and school can stop the spread.

What to look for:
Common Symptoms: Fever, mouth sores, and a skin rash commonly found on the hands and feet.
How it spreads: Close personal contact, through the air (coughing/sneezing), or contact with contaminated surfaces.

How to prevent the spread:
✅ Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
✅ Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and shared items like toys.
✅ Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
✅ Stay home if you or your child are feeling sick to protect others.

We are so excited to bring the Parlier Farmers Market to Heritage Park! Starting May 20th, from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, for a celebration of local food, crafts, and wellness.

We are especially proud to announce our partnership with the PUSD Plant Science Program! 🚜 Our students have been working hard to bring you fresh fruits and vegetables farmed directly by them. Come out and support our future farmers!
