🏟️🚧 PHS Stadium Construction Update

We know these photos may feel a little bittersweet. But as we watch the old stadium take its next steps toward transformation, we’re also reminded of what’s ahead. ✨

Every beam removed, every section cleared, and every phase completed brings us one step closer to a new stadium built for future generations of PHS students and our entire community.

While it’s never easy to say goodbye to a place filled with so many memories, we are incredibly excited to see this vision come to life and eager for the progress this next chapter will bring! 🏟️

We’re excited to share an updated progress video and aerial view of the Parlier High School Stadium as the transformation continues! 🏗️

From the ground and from above, you can see just how much the site has already changed. What was once a familiar part of our campus is making way for an exciting new chapter for PHS students, athletes, staff, families, and our entire community.

We’re so happy to share this glimpse of the progress with our Parlier Unified community and invite you to take a look at how the project is coming together!

This week, all K–6th grade students at Mathew J. Brletic Elementary School participated in a special assembly hosted by Mid Valley Disposal and PUSD Food Services, focused on environmental stewardship and smart cafeteria habits! 🌱👏

Students learned important, real-world lessons about how small choices can make a big difference:

♻️ SB 1383 Organic Waste Sorting
Students learned how and why we separate food scraps and compostable materials from other waste to help reduce what goes into landfills and protect our environment.

🍎 Offer vs. Serve
Students learned how they can select the meal components they want to eat, helping reduce unnecessary food waste in our cafeterias.

The students especially loved seeing a live demonstration of the waste-sorting process! ♻️ It was a hands-on way to see how these practices work and why they matter.

Following the assembly, teachers continued the learning in their classrooms with two instructional videos to help reinforce these sustainable habits and make them part of our daily routine. 📚🌎

We look forward to welcoming Mid Valley Disposal representatives back to review the implementation of SB 1383 and continue supporting our students and staff as we work together toward more sustainable schools.

Our Parlier Jr. High School Cross Country Team recently competed in the Fresno Relays on September 19, 2026, at the Fresno State University campus/Woodward Park area, hosted by Fresno High School. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

🚧 PHS Stadium Construction Update!

The transformation of the Parlier High School Stadium continues, and we’re making progress with another major phase of demolition! 🏗️

The concrete and bleachers have now been removed from both berms, clearing more of the existing stadium and making way for the exciting improvements ahead.

🔎 What’s next? The contractor will investigate the depth of the existing light tower foundations below the surface as they prepare for their removal.

Step by step, we’re clearing the way for a new stadium that will create more opportunities for our students, athletes, families, and community for years to come.

We’re excited to continue sharing these behind-the-scenes updates as the transformation takes shape!

Here’s a look at the stadium as the last remaining berm is being removed, marking another significant step in clearing the site and preparing for the exciting work ahead. 🏗️

Transformation is underway at San Joaquin Valley High School! 🦁🔨

Our PUSD Maintenance team is currently modernizing an office space to create a refreshed, updated, and more welcoming workspace for our SJVHS administrative staff. From improvements to the space itself to a fresh new look, this project is helping create an environment where our staff can feel comfortable, supported, and ready to serve our students and families.

And there’s more to come! 🎉
New carpet is scheduled to be installed in October, helping complete the updated look and feel of the office.

A big thank you to our PUSD Maintenance team for the work they do behind the scenes to keep our schools welcoming, functional, and ready for our students and staff! 🔧

It was another exciting day of Parlier After School Sports (P.A.S.S.)! Our elementary athletes brought the energy to the court and field for some great flag football and volleyball matchups! 🏈🏐

🐾 The Brletic Cougars traveled to take on the Martinez Jaguars!
🐯 The Benavidez Bengals headed over to face the Tuolumne Wildcats!

From exciting plays and teamwork to cheering each other on, our young athletes had a great time, played hard, and showed what it means to represent their schools with pride, sportsmanship, and teamwork!

A special shoutout to our PUSD high school student referees who helped make these games possible! 🏈🏐 Their leadership and support are a great example of students giving back to their school community and helping our younger athletes grow.

We’re so proud of all our P.A.S.S. athletes and everyone who continues to make these games such a fun experience for our students! 👏

Activities like this are so valuable in the classroom because interdisciplinary learning helps students see connections between different subjects, while cooperative learning builds communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Congratulations to Ms. Williams, Parlier Unified’s Math Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), on earning her Math Framework Foundations badge after completing 30 hours of professional learning! 🎉

This professional learning was offered through the Math Professional Learning Partnership Grant Program and is designed to build capacity for TK–12 mathematics coaching and teaching aligned with the 2023 California Mathematics Framework.

But what does this mean for our students? 🤔📚

Professional learning like this helps strengthen the knowledge and tools educators use to support high-quality mathematics instruction. By deepening her understanding of the California Mathematics Framework, Ms. Williams is better equipped to support teachers, strengthen instructional practices, and help create meaningful math learning experiences for students across PUSD.

This work helps ensure that our students have opportunities to develop mathematical thinking, build confidence, make connections, and apply their learning to real-world situations. 💡➗

We are incredibly proud of Ms. Williams for investing her time and expertise in continued professional growth and for bringing that learning back to support our educators and students!
