Welcome to the official page of the Madison Park Volunteer Fire Company. MPVFC is a volunteer fire company located in Old Bridge Township, NJ. We operate one engine (Engine 407), one aerial (Ladder 408), one brush truck (Brush 414), and two commands vehicles (Chief 400 and Chief 420). We also work with Old Bridge Fire District #4′s Fire Prevention Bureau, and they have two support vehicles (540, 541). We operate out of one station (419), which was built between 1956 and 1958 by our original members. Since that time, there have been several additions to the building over the years, including a fully functional training center. The Madison Park Volunteer Fire Company protects a population of about 15,000 in an area of approximately 2 square miles. Our primary coverage area includes Rt. 9, a major gas line station, several major big box type stores and various other businesses. We respond to approximately 120 alarms each year, ranging from vehicle accidents, carbon monoxide and fire alarms, smells of smoke, unknown odors, as well as any type of fire that occurs in our response area. MPVFC will also respond mutual aid into neighboring towns and fire districts when requested. Besides answering fire calls, the members are required to participate in training through out the year, and perform house duties weekly on Wednesday night. MPVFC also participates in many fund raising activities, township activities and public relations events.

*** Update*** Thank you for all of the shares and tips! As a result of your help, two of the four suspects have turned themselves in and are cooperating fully with our investigation. The initial report indicated that the suspects used the credit card to purchase gasoline. Further investigation revealed that this is not accurate. We are still in the process of investigating this incident, and hope to bring it to a complete resolution quickly. We appreciate your support and assistance.

The Rahway Police Department is actively investigating a burglary to Rahway Fire Headquarters that occurred in the early morning hours of November 29, 2019.

Video cameras from inside the fire station captured the images of the four male suspects, who appear to be in their early 20s. The men arrogantly entered fire headquarters through an open door while the firemen were out on an emergency call. The suspects lingered in the bay area, and even pointed to the surveillance cameras. They then rummaged through the offices and building, and left before emergency personnel returned from the call. The suspects stole one of the fire fighter’s jacket that contained his keys, wallet, cash and credit cards.

We are seeking the public’s assistance in helping to identify the four men. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rahway Police Department TIPS line at 732/ 388-1553

MADISON PARK VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY delivered one of the most prestigious awards to one of our members, Tom McGuire. He has accumulated over 50 years of service with the Madison Park Volunteer Fire Company. To show our appreciation to him, as he has shown to the community, we presented him with this golden axe and plaque. We thank him for the knowledge he has bestowed upon many of our members. The membership has always looked up to him and it was a great honor to have been given the opportunity to have such a man serve here.

City of Atlanta Police Department

We would like to take a moment and recognize one of our own. Officer Robert Winkler, formerly Firefighter/Commissioner Robert Winkler of MPFD prior to following his dream of becoming a police officer, for assisting in saving this dog from a burning home earlier this month. Rob is still a close friend to many of us here at MPFD and visits us often. Great job, Rob!

APD CARES: On the night of January 7, 2018, Atlanta Police Department officers in Zone 1 saved a dog from an apartment fire at Mayson Turner Rd. and Joseph E. Boone Blvd.

Below is body camera footage obtained from Officer Robert Winkler. He quickly pulled the dog to safety and Officer Austin Denninger carried the dog away from the fire. Officer Markevis Holloway then contacted APD’s Animal Cruelty Liaison Senior Police Officer Amy Soeldner for assistance at the scene. SPO Soeldner wrapped the dog in her coat while Grady EMT Jesse Johnson provided him with oxygen. The dog was resuscitated and turned over to Fulton County Animal Services for an overnight stay at a veterinary hospital. The dog has now taken on the name “Smokey” and is available for adoption.
Information on how to adopt Smokey here: http://bit.ly/2DjWaKy

We are so incredibly proud of the compassion and love our officers showed for this animal, thank you. We also thank the firefighters with Atlanta Fire Rescue and Grady’s emergency responders for helping save Smokey.

Please do us, and yourselves the favor. If you have a hydrant nearby, clear it of snow. you'd want us to have quick access to it in the event of a fire, instead of wasting precious minutes digging it out, while your, or your neighbors property is burning.

We hope all our residents are keeping warm at home today and that no one has to travel. We understand that people still may need to go to work, but safety is the number 1 priority. If you don't have to travel, DON'T! And remember that while you are keeping warm at home, your volunteers are currently standing by in-station, instead of being home, for the duration of the storm in order to ensure prompt response should our services be needed.

‘Bomb cyclone’ — a winter ‘hurricane’ of snow — heads up the East Coast

We encourage all our residents to make all necessary plans and preparations to remain safe and ready to this storm, should the potential for higher snow totals take place. We also ask our residents to "Adopt-a-hydrant" And remember to dig out hydrants near their homes, should we need immediate access in an emergency situation.

NEW YORK — In a one-two punch of brutal winter weather, a snowstorm could slam the New York region later this week, followed by the coldest air thus far in this relentless arctic outbreak. The storm is being called a "bomb cyclone" or "bombogenesis" — an ominous-sounding term frequently used to ...
