Parsippany Troy-Hills Fire District 6

Parisippany Fire District 6 is located in the center of town and provides fire and rescue services. We wish to tell you a little about ourselves.

The history of Fire District #6 goes back to 1929. At that time it was incorporated by 27 members who volunteered their time to help and assist the residents of Parsippany Troy Hills. Those members in 1929 had occupations that included dairy farmers, carpenters, blacksmiths, electricians, gas station attendants and police officers. Today our member’s occupations may be different, but they are stil

l similar to those of our founding fathers. However, just like in 1929, we still are ALL volunteers and offer our services to the community “Free of Charge”. Our members and equipment are only a phone call away and ready twenty four hours a day, seven days a week to protect the lives of you and your loved ones as well as your property. We’re not much different from you or people you know, you might even know some of our members. We are your neighbors , friends , co-workers. We are the dedicated men and women of Parsippany who enjoy giving back to our town. We might have had an opportunity to teach your children about fire safety and prevention at one of our elementary school visitations every October during Fire Prevention Week. Perhaps you and your family have stopped by during our Monday night training drills or even attended our open house during Fire Prevention Week. We are always looking for new members to join our department in our quest to keep the residents of Parsippany safe. If you are interested in doing your part in the community, this is a great opportunity to do so. Feel free to contact us at 973-335-0144 or just stop by the firehouse located at 60 Littleton Road during one of Monday night drills. If your between the ages of 16 and 18 you can still do your part by joining our Junior Firefighter program in which you will be able to work side by side with the regular members. Through this experience, you will be prepared to make the jump from a junior member to a regular member.

This afternoon the members of District 6 responded to a vehicle fire in the parking lot of 399 Jefferson Rd. A fast response kept the fire from spreading to other vehicles. No injuries reported.

🇨🇴 THANK YOU FROM PARSIPPANY FIRE DISTRICT 6 🇨🇴

Over the past four days, our community came together in an incredible way.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our residents, local businesses, and everyone who stopped by to contribute, we were able to fill more than 100 boxes with donated supplies that will be sent to Colombia to help families and communities in need.

From food, clothing, shoes, blankets, baby supplies, hygiene products, pet supplies, and so much more — every single donation added up and made this relief effort possible.

To everyone who donated, shared our posts, helped spread the word, packed boxes, sorted supplies, or simply showed your support: THANK YOU. ❤️

Seeing how quickly our community came together to help people thousands of miles away is something we are extremely grateful for.

These 100+ boxes represent much more than supplies. They represent compassion, generosity, and a community willing to step up when others are in need.

On behalf of Parsippany Fire District 6, thank you to everyone who helped make this Colombia Relief Donation Drive such a success.

Parsippany Fire District 6 is accepting donations beginning tomorrow!

We are asking our community to come together and help families and communities affected by the recent earthquake in Colombia.

• Non-perishable food
• Baby supplies & diapers
• Personal hygiene products
• First-aid supplies
• Blankets
• New or gently used clothing — clean and in good condition
• New or gently used shoes — clean and in good condition
• Other essential relief supplies

Every donation, big or small, can make a difference. We welcome support from residents, local businesses, neighboring fire departments, EMS agencies, police departments, and community organizations.

Firefighter/Commissioner/Honorary Chief James Lukashuk, 64
Parsippany Troy-Hills Fire District 6. Parsippany, NJ
Firefighter/Commissioner/Honorary Chief Lukashuk responded to two emergency calls on July 22, 2026, and returned home in the evening. Early the following morning, Firefighter/Commissioner/Honorary Chief Lukashuk was found unresponsive. Emergency medical services personnel responded but, despite all efforts, Firefighter/Commissioner/Honorary Chief Lukashuk was pronounced deceased at his home from a cardiovascular event.

Today we honor the life of James “Jim” Lukashuk. Commissioner, Life Member, Fire Fighter. We thank you for your years of dedicated service to our community. You will be missed.
We would like to thank everyone for their love and support over the last week. It means so much to his fellow Fire Fighters and family.
