Today we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates Black freedom, resilience, culture, and achievement.

Our Juneteenth display highlights books that explore Black history, voices, and experiences. We invite you to browse these titles and continue learning about the stories and contributions that have shaped our nation.

📚In observance of Juneteenth, all Parsippany Library locations will be closed today, June 19. We will resume regular hours tomorrow.

📊Thank you to everyone who joined us for an inspiring evening with Dr. Nicole Alioto!

During her talk, You Can Measure Anything!, Dr. Alioto shared practical strategies for measuring concepts that can often feel impossible to quantify, from engagement and belonging to trust and organizational culture. Attendees enjoyed a thoughtful discussion, audience Q&A, and a book signing celebrating the release of her new book.

It was especially meaningful to welcome Dr. Alioto back to Parsippany, where her love of libraries and learning first began. We’re grateful she shared her expertise, insights, and enthusiasm with our community.

📖🍽️ History came to life at our recent live recording of Beyond the Green: Revolutionary Recipes – The Secrets of American Cookbooks.

Guests joined host Peter Barbounis and special guest Melanie Bump, Curator of Collections and Exhibits for the Morris County Park Commission, for a fascinating conversation exploring the stories hidden within historic cookbooks and handwritten recipe collections.

Attendees had the opportunity to view rare 18th- and 19th-century recipe books, historic cooking implements, and discover how food, family traditions, home remedies, cultural influences, and even a little gossip helped shape everyday life in early America.

Thank you to everyone who attended this unique look at history through the lens of the kitchen. As we continue commemorating the 250th anniversary of our nation, we’re grateful for opportunities to connect with the people, stories, and traditions that came before us. Thank you to Beyond The Green Podcast for sharing your knowledge and this great experience with our Library community!

✨What a beautiful night under the stars!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Astronomy Night with the Morris Museum Astronomical Society. Participants had the chance to explore the night sky through telescopes, learn about celestial objects visible this time of year, and enjoy an evening of discovery with fellow stargazers.

From views of Venus and Jupiter to sparkling star clusters, distant nebulae, and galaxies far beyond our own, the night offered plenty of opportunities to connect with the wonders of the universe.

A special thank you to the Morris Museum Astronomical Society for sharing their expertise and helping bring the night sky a little closer to home.🌙🔭✨

Adults with cognitive or developmental disabilities, along with their caregivers and support staff, came together for a morning of music, laughter, and community. From favorite songs to cheering each other on, it was wonderful to see everyone having fun, building friendships, and expressing themselves in such a welcoming space.💙

Our Social Hour takes place every 4th Friday of the month from 11:00 am–12:00 pm, with a different themed activity each time. We can’t wait to sing along again soon!

Last month's 'Tap Into Calm' session was such a wonderful experience!✨🧘‍♀️

We explored EFT Tapping for gentle stress release and then delved into the power of hypnosis for focused relaxation and mental clarity. It was great seeing everyone practice these practical tools Gulnaz Saeed shared for feeling calmer and more centered.

Big thank you to Gulnaz for donating your time and bringing such meaningful wellness initiatives to our community! And thanks to everyone who joined us for this calming workshop. We hope you're feeling more resilient!💙
