In order to give DOH ample time to clear all of the bus routes from the high water and debris today, all TC Schools will operate on a 2 hour delay tomorrow May 28th.

The Tucker County Board of Education will hold a Regular Board Meeting on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Davis Thomas Elementary Middle School beginning at 4:30 p.m.
All meetings are open to the public.

The WHL-U K-8th grade afterschool picnic for this evening is postponed until tomorrow, May 28, 2026. The picnic will begin at 5:00pm with the awards portion followed by the meal. At this time the picnic will take place at Mill Race Park. If the grounds are too wet, the picnic will be moved indoors at Tucker Valley Elementary Middle School.

All Tucker County Schools will be dismissing at 1:00pm today, May 27, 2026 due to potential flooding. We have been in contact with the National Weather Service and the Office of Emergency Management and there is a window of time at 1:00 that we feel will be safe to get the kids home before the rain starts again.

Last evening the Board of Education meeting was held at Tucker County High School. During the meeting, 40 students were recognized for the academic achievements. Pictured below are the students who attended, the board members and Superintendent Lambert. Congratulations goes out to all of these students who were recognized for academic excellence.
