We love seeing hands on education! ✨🌱 The Interact Children's Museum was able to bring their resources to Tucker County Schools thanks to a grant from the Dehari Fund. Since 2008, the Dehari Fund has sponsored classroom technology such as a 3D printer, CPR manikin, and chemistry lab supplies. Recently, the fund has also sponsored field trips to places such as Washington DC and the Hovatter Zoo. Here at TCF, we talk a lot about donors planting seeds. But this past Saturday was all about enjoying the hard-earned fruits of these investments. At our first Grants Reception, four local grantees shared the good work their organizations are doing in their communities, inspiring all of us to get involved and give back.

Did you know...

The Old Brick Playhouse not only supports the artistic ambitions and self-confidence of 130+ students in Randolph Co., but also provides art therapy workshops for residents of Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center nursing home?

Heart and Hand House provides emergency assistance for Barbour Co. residents facing utility shutoffs or other basic needs during times of crisis. They also run a food pantry, a community market, and a community thrift store.

National Youth Science Academy hosts a STEAM innovation and business startup competition among local middle and high schoolers each year. Throughout the year, NYSA brings families together for Monday Night Science, with homemade dinners and interactive STEAM lessons for all ages.

South Side Studios is cultivating a community-centered artistic vision in Petersburg, offering a rotating gallery, classes, and community events in their studio. They also partner with schools, libraries, and the historic society to expand rural access to the arts.

Did you know TCF houses over 40 funds designated for Randolph County charitable organizations and students? Take a look at the two most recent funds to support Randolph County residents!🌟⬇🌱

The Mary L. Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund honors the life and legacy of beloved Third Ward Elementary educator Mary L. Davis by supporting Randolph County students pursuing higher education.

The Meals on Wheels of Randolph County Agency Endowed Fund will provide a permanent source of support for Meals on Wheels of Randolph County, helping ensure nutritious meals continue to reach homebound seniors and individuals who are unable to prepare meals for themselves.

Senate Resolution 48, memorializing the life of Sarah Minear, passed unanimously today in the WV Senate Chamber. Senate President Randy Smith presented the resolution to Tucker Community Foundation's Executive Director, David Cooper, and Ohio-West Virginia Youth Leadership Association Executive Director, David King. The philanthropic legacy of Mrs. Minear, our Foundation's founder, continues to touch the lives of many. As an organization, we are grateful for this recognition and proud to carry her mission forward.

🌟 Exciting News from Pendleton County! 🌟

We had a productive afternoon yesterday, and we're thrilled to share that Pendleton County is now officially part of the Tucker Community Foundation’s service area! This milestone follows the partnership between the Pendleton County Community Foundation and the Tucker Community Foundation, which has led to the creation of three new endowed funds to benefit Pendleton County communities.

These funds are a testament to the collaborative efforts of TCF staff, William “Bill” Loving, CEO of Pendleton Community Bank, and Luke Taylor-Ide, TCF Board Member and Interim President and CEO of Future Generations University. After thoughtful discussions, the Pendleton County Community Foundation has decided to allocate its resources towards the following impactful initiatives:

💵 Pendleton Community Fund: This unrestricted fund supports initiatives that enhance the quality of life in Pendleton County. Managed by a local advisory committee of residents and donors, it ensures that decisions are made locally for a meaningful impact. In addition, we’re excited to announce that the Tucker Community Foundation has matched $5,000 for the creation of the Pendleton Community Fund as part of their Community Fund Match Program!

💵 Pendleton County Emergency Services Fund: This vital fund will provide ongoing support for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in Pendleton County, ensuring they have the resources needed to serve the community effectively.

💵 Pendleton County Fast Start Fund: Designed to encourage local individuals and organizations, this fund will offer matching support to help establish new funds with the Tucker Community Foundation, further benefiting the citizens of Pendleton County.
