This afternoon, Engine Tanker 6 proudly participated in the Sharptown Volunteer Fire Department’s 100th Anniversary Parade, where our members were honored to receive 2nd place for best appearing engine.

This evening, Engine Tanker 6 remained in Sharptown with a staffing of 6 personnel, providing standby coverage while Sharptown's members operated their annual carnival and celebrated this incredible milestone with their community.

Congratulations to the Sharptown Volunteer Fire Department on 100 years of dedicated service to your community. We are grateful to have been a small part of such a special day and wish you continued success for many years to come.

🚨 Burn Ban Lifted in Wicomico County 🚨

Effective today, the Wicomico County burn ban has been lifted.

If you're planning to burn, please do so responsibly:

🔥 Follow all state and county regulations.
💨 Avoid burning on windy or excessively dry days.
📋 Obtain any required permits before burning.

Even though the ban has been lifted, fire safety is everyone's responsibility. If your fire gets out of control, call 911 immediately.

Burn ban still in effect for Wicomico County.

We would like to remind all residents that a burn ban remains in effect in Wicomico County. The burn ban was enacted due to public safety concerns. Recent dry conditions, low humidity levels, and increased wind patterns have significantly elevated the risk of uncontrolled fires. These conditions make it easier for even small, contained burns to spread rapidly, posing a serious threat to homes, businesses, agricultural lands, and first responders. Please see this chart of current accumulated precipitation levels for your situational awareness.

The Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company is seeking an experienced Firefighter/Paramedic Supervisor to join our team on D Shift (24 hours on / 72 hours off).

This is a working operational supervisor position. The successful candidate will actively respond to emergency incidents while providing leadership and managing administrative responsibilities including scheduling, supplies, logistics, and other duties as assigned.

Compensation
💲 $27–$38/hour (based on experience and qualifications)
✅ Overtime after 40 hours

Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company is currently providing an engine standby at Laurel Fire Department Station 81 while their crews are on scene of a structure fire.

Engine Tanker 6 responded with Chief and four firefighters to assist and help ensure emergency coverage remains available for the Laurel community.

Mutual aid isn't just about responding to emergencies—it's about departments working together to make sure our communities continue to receive the highest level of service when it's needed most.
