Today was a an extremely proud and special day. I had to honor of being the first salute to one of my first enlistments 2LT Shukuru! This exceptional young man is going to go off and continue doing amazing things. He followed the path we laid out went ROTC and let the Guard pay for his school and certifications. He enlisted as a 25 series and will now branch as a Signal officer with a bachelors degree, his Comp TIA and TIS+ Certs already completed putting him that much further ahead of his peers! The guard way is the best way argue with you mama!

Today was a special day. Today we got to enlist not one,but two amazing seniors from Sam Rayburn HS. One is a varsity basketball player and the other is an amazing band member who is going to Lamar University to play in the band! Welcome PVTs Loza-Gonzalez and Guerrero to the Texas Army National Guard as a 92R- Parachute Rigger with airborne in his contract and 12W-Carpentry and Masonry Socialist! These two young men will go off and do exceptionally great things when they return from training. Welcome to the winning team gentleman!
