🙌🏿 NEW HOMEOWNER ALERT!!! 🙌🏿

Stanley is a product of the Great Migration that saw millions of African Americans leave the American South fleeing racial terror and seeking a land of new opportunities in the North and West. Stanley’s relatives came to Los Angeles in the 1930s and 40s and his family has been here ever since. Stanley has spent the past 11 years as a high school Math and Engineering teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District. However, despite saving vigorously to be able to buy a home one day, the rising costs of housing in Southern California almost convinced Stanley to move out of state where he could better afford to purchase. That’s when Greenline came into the picture providing Stanley with a $20,000 down payment grant so that he could purchase in the community that he serves in. Stanley says, “My dream was to own a home in Los Angeles, the place that my grandparents saw as a land of opportunity. Now I can stay here and continue to contribute to the community as an LAUSD educator and eventually start my own family. I want to plant roots here and build generational wealth.”

Congratulations, Stanley and welcome home!

🛠 ALTADENA GROUNDBREAKING ALERT!!! 🛠 This week we were honored to take part in another groundbreaking ceremony for longtime Altadena residents and one of our rebuilding grant recipients, the Campbell family. Our rebuilding grants, averaging $182,000 help bridge the gap between the money families have to rebuild with and what it will actually cost to rebuild. We've now given away over $1.4 million to help Eaton Fire survivors rebuild their homes and restore their neighborhoods so that they can remain in Altadena. More groundbreakings and more rebuilding to come!

Last Thursday we were overjoyed to participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of Miss Ana and Miss Carolyn's free ADU's through the multi-organization partnership, Together We Rebuild. This milestone reflects what’s possible when community, partners, and leaders come together with a shared commitment to keeping families rooted in their neighborhoods and communities. Congratulations to Miss Ana, Miss Carolyn, and all of our partner organizations that helped make this happen!

🙌🏿 NEW HOMEOWNER ALERT!!! 🙌🏿 Kelvin was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. At an early age his father was killed by gun violence right in front of their home. But Kelvin overcame the odds and became a police officer in Baltimore where he has served his community for the past 15 years. He recently received a downpayment grant from Greenline and purchased a home in the Baltimore area. Kelvin says, “After everything I’ve been through, having a home of my own would show my kids that no matter where you start, you can still build something strong and lasting.” Yes, you can, Kelvin and congratulations!
