Mayor Thomas Schoenbein has appointed Sarah Benavides as Pasadena’s new Director of Public Works.

With 25 years of City service, Benavides also becomes the first Hispanic woman to lead the department.

Crews are working to repair two separate waterline breaks affecting the following areas:

🚧 Fenwood, from Queens to Perez
🚧 Redwinn, from Queens to Perez
🚧 Perez, from Queens to Fenwood
🚧 Queens, from Bayou to Perez

A separate waterline break is also affecting:

🚧 Oaks, from Allendale to West

Residents and businesses in these areas may have low water pressure or temporarily lose water service. Repairs are expected to take approximately 3–5 hours.

We appreciate your patience while crews work to restore service.

Today, the Pasadena Rodeo Trail Ride hit the road to kick off another year of rodeo fun. With stops at local schools along the way, the tradition gives students a chance to experience a little western spirit right in their own community.

City Hall will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

City sanitation services will not operate on this date; however, Frontier Waste will continue service as scheduled.

Good morning, Pasadena! Here’s a quick weather update as we head into the day.🌧️

The system in the Gulf has strengthened into Tropical Storm Edouard, and our City of Pasadena Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor conditions closely.

A Flood Watch is in effect for our area through Wednesday morning, with heavy rainfall expected to be our primary concern. For southeast Harris County, the heavier rain is currently expected to begin between 1–3 p.m. today.

🏛️ City operations will continue as regularly scheduled.

🏫 Pasadena ISD, Deer Park ISD, and La Porte ISD are closed today.

As you head out today, keep an eye on changing conditions and use extra caution on the roads. If you encounter high water, turn around; don’t drown.
