Make sure to say thank you today, on the first ever official "Vietnam War Veterans Day," signed into effect last night by President Trump.

About 9.2 million Americans served in the military during the Vietnam era (1964-75). We thank you, today and every day, for fighting to preserve liberty.

Fort Smallwood Elementary school is reaching out to our veterans. for some help

Parents...it's getting down to the wire for our Veterans Day event and we still need a good amount of volunteers to make this a great event for the kids. Please ask the people you know, your co-workers, neighbors, etc. if they know of any vets OR active duty service members that would like to help us out. You can share the following post on your facebook too! Thanks again to all those who have already stepped up. We really appreciate your help! They don't need to take the entire day off to do this as the event is only a hour long so please encourage as many people as possible to join us in this fun, educational event! If they are interested, please send me a PM with their name, what service they are in, whether they are active or veteran and if they have a preference as to what class they are in.
"We are still in need of military volunteers for our Veterans Day celebrations for the kids!! Please, please, please reach out if you would like to attend or know someone who would!! Each class is making something special for their volunteer so each volunteer will walk away with a very special gift of appreciation. We will also be serving them a special breakfast treat before the event starts. So, call your friends, your neighbors, your fellow military service members and let me know. We want to make this a super special day but need your help!!"
