Congratulations to Kevin Satterwhite on his promotion to the rank of Sergeant.

A Houston native and graduate of South Houston High School, Sergeant Satterwhite joined the Pasadena Police Department in 2007 after a 16-year career as a NASA contractor. Since graduating from the department's 61st Basic Police Academy, he has served with distinction on both patrol and in the Burglary and Theft Unit, where he has spent the past 13 years investigating cases, supporting victims, and helping keep our community safe.

Throughout his nearly two decades of service, Sergeant Satterwhite has demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the citizens of Pasadena. His dedication and leadership have earned the respect of both his fellow officers and supervisors.

Please join the Pasadena Police Department in congratulating Sergeant Satterwhite on this well-deserved promotion and wishing him continued success in his new role.

This profession involves long, often odd hours that take us away from our families during special moments. While our dedication to our department and community is strong, the love and need to watch our children learn and grow endures.

Despite the exhaustion and heartache they experience on the job, the fathers in our department find the time and energy to keep showing up for the kids they hold dear.

Thank you to all the fathers in the Pasadena Police Department and all the fathers everywhere for your endless efforts to be an example of strength, commitment, love, and relentless effort.

Living in Texas and experiencing extreme weather can sometimes make us believe we are used to the heat or even immune to it, but nothing could be further from the truth.

We may be Texas Strong, but we are not immune to the dangers of extreme heat.

Exposure to high temperatures can be dangerous and may lead to serious health issues in a short amount of time.

It is important to recognize the signs of heat-related illness, such as heavy sweating, dizziness, and muscle cramps, and take action right away before symptoms become more severe.

Review our extreme heat checklist to learn how to stay safe during periods of high temperatures.

If you or someone you know is showing signs of heat exhaustion, move them to a cooler place and call 911 for assistance.

‼️ CASE UPDATE ‼️

On Monday, June 15, 2026, the below pictured suspect, Jalen Richard Harrison (B/M, 4/17/2001),
approached a female shopper at the DD’s Discount Store (1004 Southmore Ave) and committed the
offense of Indecent Assault. Shortly thereafter, Harrison went to Wok Delight (909 Southmore
Ave) and committed a second similar offense against a female employee.

In both incidents, Harrison approached the victim from behind and touched the victim inappropriately over their clothing, without consent.

Both victims filed a report with our department and the cases were assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit for follow-up investigation.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Harrison was arrested for Class C Assault against a third victim. The incident occurred in the area of 300 W Jackson Ave. Following this arrest, Harrison was identified as the suspect in the previous two Indecent Assault incidents.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, a warrant was filed for two counts of Indecent Assault against Harrison for both incidents occurring on June 15, 2026. Harrison was arrested on the warrant and has since been transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) following the loss of Texas State Trooper Sergio Romero, who gave his life in the line of duty.

We recognize that no words can truly ease the pain of loss, yet we pray that God grants strength and fortitude to his family, friends, and the entire DPS community during this difficult time.
May his service, dedication, and courage always be remembered.

It is with great sadness that DPS announces the death of Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Sergio Romero.

Trooper Romero was attempting to conduct a traffic stop along US-287 near Childress, around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, when a truck-tractor semi-trailer pulled out in front of him, causing his patrol unit to collide with the vehicle. Trooper Romero died on scene.

Trooper Romero answered the call to serve each day with honor and remained steadfast in his commitment to protecting and serving Texans. The DPS family will never forget the ultimate sacrifice he made in service of this state.

📣 Upcoming R.A.D. Self-Defense Course for Women 📣

The Pasadena Police Department is proud to offer a free women’s self-defense course this July. This four-day course will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the following dates:
July 21, 22, 28, and 29

R.A.D. (R**e Aggression Defense) empowers women by promoting confidence, situational awareness, and physical self-defense techniques. The course begins with strategies for awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance, then transitions to hands-on defense training.

This program is open to women ages 14 and older.

Mr. Moore is described as 6'0 tall, thin build and was last seen wearing a blue shirt, checkered pajama pants and white socks. Mr. Moore is diagnosed with dementia. An important milestone was reached as city leaders, community members, and police personnel gathered for the Cornerstone Ceremony of the new Police Annex Building, the latest addition to our Municipal Complex.

Historically, cornerstone ceremonies marked the placement of a stone that helped guarantee the structural stability of a building’s foundation. Today, these ceremonies remain an important tradition, symbolizing strength, stability, and a community’s commitment to the future. We would like to thank the Archives Lodge #1399, AF&AM for conducting this meaningful ceremony and helping commemorate this important milestone.

We look forward to celebrating the next chapter with our upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony and the official opening of this important new facility in mid-June.
