🍩💙 Goodies with Grands at CES! 💙🍩

Wednesday morning was extra sweet at Central Elementary! We loved welcoming our grandparents into the building for Goodies with Grands! 🥰

Our grandparents enjoyed donuts, smiles, hugs, and precious time with their grandchildren. There’s just something special about seeing the joy on our students’ faces when they get to share these moments with the people who love them most. ❤️

Thank you to all of our grandparents who took the time to join us! We loved having you at CES and hope you know how special you are to our Panther Cubs! 🐾💙

📚 Well… y’all SHOWED UP!! 💙

Goodies with Grandparents turned into Books with Everybody, and we had one of our BEST Book Fair sales days ever! 🎉
A HUGE thank you to all of our grandparents, parents, families, and friends who came, shopped, spoiled some little readers, and supported our library. Our shelves may be a little emptier, but our hearts are FULL. 🥰📚
Central families, you are just the BEST!

MDE FAMILY REGIONAL LITERACY MEETING

The Mississippi Department of Education has announced a series of regional literacy meetings to provide families of public school students in kindergarten through grade 3 an overview of assessments and other requirements associated with the Literacy-Based Promotion Act, often referred to as the third-grade reading gate. The meetings will focus on practical strategies families can use to help their students become strong readers, a skill necessary for success in grade 4 and beyond.

Families of K-3 students are encouraged to attend the session. No registration is required.

Regional Literacy Meeting Schedule - all sessions are from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 10 - Moss Point - Family Education Center, 3524 Prentiss Ave., Moss Point

Those with questions may contact one of MDE's Regional Literacy Coordinators. Email Aimee Hawkins at [email protected] or Summeral Newman at [email protected].

Additional reading resources can be found on MDE's literacy website, strongreaders.com. Together, we've got this!

📚Skip the cash. Skip the worry. Set up an ewallet!

Book fair shopping is SO much easier with eWallet! Load funds ahead of time and your child can shop the fair without keeping up with cash…. or digging through the bottom of the backpack for it.

Easy for parents. Easy for kids. More time for the fun part… Books! Set up your child’s eWallet before he or she shops! 💙
