Happy Earth Day from all of us at Sagemoor Vineyards! 🍇🌱 🌎

Every day, we’re proud to care for the land that grows our grapes —because we know that healthy soil, clean water, and thriving ecosystems are the foundation of everything we do.

From responsible water use and sustainable farming practices to ongoing stewardship of our vineyards, we’re committed to protecting our environment for future generations. 🌿

Today, we celebrate the planet that gives us so much—and renew our commitment to growing with care.

It’s been cold, but don’t worry. 💧❄️ When it gets cold, we wrap our tiny buds in a protective shell of ice. What??

As water freezes, it actually releases heat — called latent heat of fusion (for all you physics fans).

When spring temperatures drop, our teams work tirelessly to protect budding vines. So as you open your favorite bottle tonight, toast the love and attention that went into growing the grapes in your glass. 🤍

Last week three of our team members graduated from the Latino Agriculture Education Program (LAEP) through — and we couldn’t be more proud.🎓🍇

Their commitment to continued education and growth makes our company stronger and reflects the passion and pride they bring to our vineyards every single day.

Programs like LAEP, in partnership with , , and , are helping build the future of Washington agriculture — and we’re honored to be part.

👏 Please join us in congratulating our LAEP graduates: Christopher Gonzalez, Crecenciano Espinoza Delgado, and Maricela Mendoza.

With annual registration for Sustainable WA certification kicking off March 1, we want to share why we’ve been Sustainable WA certified since 2022 and Salmon Safe certified since 2024. For us, it’s more than a label – it’s how we do business: caring for our people, protecting the land, and building a business that lasts.

Buying grapes from a Sustainable WA certified grower can also be a real business advantage for wineries. As Mandy Walters, our Director of Hospitality & Experiences, sees every day in our Walla Walla tasting room: “Sustainability is what consumers are looking for right now. Their eyes light up when I talk about how we care for the land and the people who work it, so the ecosystem thrives and nature stays in balance for the next 100 years and beyond.

“It’s important for wineries to not only put Sustainable WA on their labels, but to actively talk about it – during tastings, events, and conversations with guests. The next generation is already thinking about sustainable products, and sustainability helps us connect the Washington Wine industry to future wine drinkers.”

At Sagemoor, everything starts in the vineyards. A recent feature in Sean P. Sullivan Northwest Wine Report offers a thoughtful look at our vineyard-first philosophy and the evolution of Sagemoor Estates. With more than 100 wineries sourcing fruit from Sagemoor Vineyards, our approach is simple: elevate the purest expression of each site. As Sean Sullivan writes, “The goal is still principally to promote Sagemoor Vineyards fruit and the exceptional wine that it creates.” Experience the vineyard-designated Cabernets for yourself with a private tasting https://sagemoorestates.com/requests.

“Sagemoor Estates is a vineyard-focused winery because that’s what we are and that’s who we are,” says Kent Waliser, brand ambassador at Sagemoor Estates. “The winery is all built around vineyards.”

Sagemoor Vineyards is a collection of six sites that encompass 1,200 acres in Washington’s Columbia Valley. With Sagemoor Estates, the company is looking to showcase fruit by its own hand.

Last week, we welcomed Professor Jill Perillo Clark and CWU Wine Studies students to Weinbau Vineyard! 🍇✨ Kent Waliser and Miguel Rodriguez (Miguel the Man himself) showed them our viticulture practices and what makes so special. We were proud to donate Cabernet Franc to support their program—and of course, their annual Grape Stomp! 🍇🍷
