It’s important to consider the role of Local Union 598 and our PAC in helping PNWH2 hub secure its grant from the Federal Government. We played a significant part in advocating for and supporting projects like this, often contributing to the success of grant applications and infrastructure development.

While not all of the 8050 construction jobs, this project will create, will be in our jurisdiction. It’s with great pride to report that many will be!

Truly humbling to be part of a team that not only fights for our members and their families but also for our local community.

Vit Plant leaders Rick Holmes (left) and Scott Booth (right) recently presented a check for $5,000 in support of Bikes for Tikes
to UA Local Union 598 Plumbers and Steamfitters's Seth Worley. Bikes for Tikes fills an important role in our community by building thousands of bikes each year for youth and brings incredible joy to those kids. Thank you to 598 and Bikes for Tikes for all you do! We are more than happy to support such a program!

A lot of hard work went into SHB 1584 and it paid off last night. At 10:30pm the House moved to pass this bill, “An act relating to planning for advanced nuclear reactor technology in Washington State.” While still a few hold outs it is a very positive first step! The bill now moves to the Senate where we hope to repeat the success it had in the House.

Nickolas Bumpaous, Business Manager of UA Local 598 said, “The working men and women of Hanford bring their skills, labor, and commitment to work with them every day. Our Brothers and Sisters are tasked with protecting the health of our Nation and they, above all else, deserve honesty.
