Your Pasco Firefighters wanted to remind everyone that today is more than a holiday. It is a day to remember the heroes who never made it home. We honor their sacrifice, carry their memory, and hold their families close in our hearts. Forever grateful. 🇺🇸

Several of your Pasco Fire units are assisting with this wild land fire in Benton County Fire District #1’s response area. Please be safe and heed to the warnings of the professionals in charge of the active fire scene. Many departments from across the region are working together to mitigate this on going fire! Thank you to all of the citizens for your cooperation during this time!

This EMS Week, we recognize the EMTs and Paramedics who answer the call every day often during someone’s worst moment.
EMS professionals provide critical care, compassion, and calm under pressure.

From life threatening emergencies to helping vulnerable members of our community, their work goes far beyond the back of an ambulance.

Behind every response is extensive training, teamwork, sacrifice, and a commitment to serving others.

Thank you to all the EMTs and Paramedics of Pasco Fire and EMS agencies everywhere for the care you provide and the difference you make in our community every single day.

National Police Week gives us a chance to recognize the men and women of the Pasco Police who show up every day ready to serve our community.

Sure, we joke that they call us for bandaids… and they joke about us staging until the scene is safe to enter. That’s just part of our relationship. But behind the friendly firehouse rivalry is deep respect and gratitude for the officers we work beside every day.

They’re steady in the face of danger, frequently first on scene to provide lifesaving medical care, and somehow manage to handle some of the worst humanity has to offer with professionalism, grit, and compassion.

To our brothers and sisters of Pasco PD: We see the long nights, the difficult calls, and the moments nobody else ever hears about. Pasco is lucky to have you — and so are we. We may joke about staging, but if you really need us, know that nothing will stop us from coming to your aid.

-Your brothers and sisters of 1433

Today your Pasco Firefighters had a call for a Paddle Boarder that was stranded on the Columbia River. Upon arrival to the dock to locate the stranded citizen, our crew was met by another outstanding citizen, Dylan Grad. Dylan heard about the incident unfolding and was kind enough to lend Firefighter Neidhold a ride out to the stranded paddle boarder in order to help release their anchor. Without community members like this our job would be much more difficult. Dylan, thanks again for being an outstanding citizen. Hats off to you today 👊🏼👨🏻‍🚒

May the 4th be with you!

While many are thinking of a galaxy far, far away, your Pasco firefighters are recognizing International Firefighters’ Day.

We may be a little biased, but we believe the work performed by firefighters across the globe is essential. Whether it’s battling a blaze hotter than Mustafar or bringing a new hope when it’s needed most, firefighters bring a level of calm and expertise to chaotic scenes—no force required, just skill built from hours of training.

Today, we recognize the firefighters here in our community and across the world. Thank you for being ready when the call comes in and for standing on the light side of the force.

Your Pasco Firefighters respond to emergencies with a dedicated staffing model. This ensures the highest level of service to our community—24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
At a minimum, 23 personnel are on duty staffing 12 apparatus, including 5 paramedic ambulances, 5 fire suppression units, 1 Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) unit, and 1 Battalion Chief overseeing shift and incident command.

So what does “dedicated staffing” mean for you?

It means every station has at least two staffed apparatus, a paramedic ambulance and fire suppression unit that respond together on emergencies, allowing us to deliver immediate, well-coordinated patient care and fire attack.

Some of your Pasco Firefighters are currently attending their week long, “Journeyman Academy.” This Academy is for members to conclude their 3 year long apprenticeship. The goal of this academy is to take the members who have built their basic skill set from the ground up and add the fine tuned expertise that comes next. Leadership at Pasco Fire Department is built from day one and built upon year after year. These photos showcase your firefighters fine tuning their Forcible Entry skills. These skills are used on large scale incidents and very small scale incidents. These techniques are honed in, in order to best serve the patients at hand, while also doing the least amount of damage possible to any belongings or structures that may have to be replaced by our tax paying citizens of Pasco! 👨🏻‍🚒

We’d like to wish Battalion Chief / Paramedic Brenda Rodgers of Richland Fire a happy and healthy retirement!

Chief Rodgers is retiring after 34 years of dedicated service. Most of us had the pleasure of working closely with Chief Rodgers during joint trainings and during many of the complex operational incidents she commanded.

Thanks for paving the way and leaving our fire service better than you found it!

Happy retirement Chief!

🚨 Retirement Alert 🚨

Yesterday marked the end of an incredible chapter, as Battalion Chief Brenda Rodgers completed her final shift after 34 years of distinguished service with Richland Fire & Emergency Services.

A true trailblazer, Brenda made history as the department’s first female firefighter, breaking barriers and setting the standard for those who followed. Through every step of her journey to Battalion Chief, she led with strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication, leaving a legacy that will continue to shape this department and the fire service for years to come.

Brenda, your impact goes far beyond the calls you answered or the ranks you achieved. It lives on in the people you mentored, the paths you opened, and the example you set every single day.

Thank you for your extraordinary service, your leadership, and your heart. Congratulations on a well-earned retirement! You will be deeply missed!
